NO Joke, I started reading this thread, and thought WTF is 89S doing. He knows better than this **** than to leave a thread without a proper title. By page 2, I edited it to say Engine Oil Cooler Diverter. Then I come to the last page to chew your ass, and see you already requested the change. :roflbow::roflbow::roflbow: I didn't change it to what you said to, but close enough that it will be found in a site search. :waytogo:

Yeah, the pics under your truck look alot like the one I'm working on right now. With the support rods to the converter cover, the oil diverter and lines etc. My cross member is a little different than yours, but since mine is bent up so bad, I thnk I am going to try to use this spare 4x4 Burb Crossmember I got. May not be able to since this truck has headers and the pipe likely won't make it on the passenger side. Notice your exhaust goes into a Y before it gets to the crossmember? Cuz there isn't to much damn room to get an exhaust pipe around the crossmember or Tcase. I may have to change my pipe to go way over the Tcase cuz I damn sure don't want to go under it and have the exhasut ripped off while out wheeling.

Thanks for the write up and pics Dawg !!! :High 5:

Just changed the oil and filter on Silvy and snugged these diverter bolts up. :waytogo:

Excellent write up.

In case you're interested, NAPA sells a much taller filter in their industrial line. Been using one for a year or more now. And if you tow alot, B&M makes a nice finned cast aluminum trans pan that holds an exra 3.5qts. It's bunged for a mechanical temp gauge so you can have real time transmission temps. Change out the filter and pour in the Dex VI synthetic and you've got one happy 700R4/4L60.

Thanks for the info, I'd like to get some of that done when the funds allow. Especially that B & M pan. I've burned my hand on the current one so I know it gets hot. You are kind of a guide for me reading your threads because I know you tow the **** out of your Burb so I'd like to eventually get some of the tricks done that you have posted. :handshake:

Yeah, that's about all we use it for ....... although it's currently doing DD duty for the wife, while I replace headgaskets, radiator, and t-stat in her '95 Audi A6 Quattro Avant.

So, yes: Biggest oil filter I can fit, the big trans pan with a mechanical temp gauge, the finned ally diff cover that holds more oil, the biggest trans cooler, and the 454 pusher fan mounted in front of that, the deeper 3-row copper 454 radiator, plus the Edelbrock manifold, in hopes of a bit more torque. I've even stepped up to 10w-40 synthetic in order to gain some hot oil pressure. It rolled 283k this summer and the engine has never been apart.
