Looking for a greater knowledge than I have. I have a 350/SM465 in 81 K25. I recently changed carburetors from a 1405 to a 1916. I vaguely remember my pick up getting 11 to 12 mpg before I parked it. I swapped to this new carburetor because the other was a mess from sitting so long plus I wanted a electric choke. Now I’m getting 8 mpg. Currently I’m sitting in position one from the factory on jetting chart. Looking for a starting point or a better suggestion on what position I should go to when I begin messing with the needles, springs, and jets. The elevation is approximately 2500 ft where I live. I pull 18 inches of vacuum at idol with a rv cam. This is also my #1 spark plug. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
