You drive it 3/4 of a mile?
Maybe drain the oil and see
There’s a company that also accepts engine oil and runs an analysis on it to determine amount of metal inside if you can’t determine yourself

I have used black stone labs where I used to work
Might be worth the 30 bucks to see what’s going on

Yeah I know what you mean I know some people that just sent 2 squares to the junk yard!! one was a 79 k20 with the original 400 abc that still ran and was almost rust free. And the other one was an 80 something k30 dually with a 454 also running this one had some rust and dents but still what a waste of 2 great trucks imo

The truck in the vid is not mine just a vid I found with the exact same sound my pickup is making my truck was an original 350 4bbl truck with a manual and is still a manual but I’ve had enough suggestions to check that so I guess I’ll man up and lay in the melting snow for awhile and look the clutch and flywheel and bellhousing bolts just to make sure they aren’t the problem

And my bad, again in a hurry, skimming and not paying attention. Having a flywheel for a manual trans eliminates the assumption of a flexplate that goes with an auto trans.

They should be arrested and charged. That's criminal.

You didnt change the oil after getting stuck in a lake? HOw deep were you in the water? Did you check the oil to make sure its not filled with water?

I was not in the water I was stuck in the 2 feet of snow on top of the ice. But yeah I would have a whole bunch more issues if water would have been involved

I had a rocker arm turn sideways that sounded horrible. I’m with checking those first.

I think you have a bad hyd lifter. I had one yrs ago that only had 15 K Miles on it . It really pounded. Put new lifters in and problem gone. I would also drain oil and ck for metal shavings first, or with that good oil pressure, I would start engine and watch rocker arms and feel them for loud noise as it runs. it will tell you what may be problem. It will also tell you if you are getting oil to rockers. Good luck and let us know.
