33X12.5X15 Mud Terrain Tires

I'm planning on going with 33X12.5X15 Mud Terrian Tires on my 1976 K5 Blazer. I like the BFG Mud Terrains. One of my concerns is road noise. Seeing what others have used and are happy with them On and Off Road.

I have 33×12.50-15s on my 75 blazer. Mine are not BFG, but they are Mud terrains.
They fit and go round and round. I have no complaints. As far as road noise, I have no idea, I've only ever run them on dirt and I run a 454 open headers so I dont hear anything, haha.

LOL. I have a built 400SB with headers, not open. Will be seeing dirt and street (mostly). Have to get to the dirt. I had some Pro-Comp mud terrains and where too loud on the road.

mud terrains will be loud on pavement. I run 33in BFG AT and find them to be capable offroad tires with pretty quiet road manners.

I have a buddy running 37" BFG MT's (the KM3) he said they are quiet for MT's, they are still low miles though.
I've also heard good things about the Nitto TrailGrapplers for noise, I am running 37" Cooper STT Pro's & they were reasonably quiet until about 50% tread life.

Mud tires really start getting loud when they get cupped, rotate often & keep your alignment in spec and they stay quiet..

I’ve been very happy with my Nitto Ridge Grapplers. They’re considered a “hybrid” tire, which is a recent category mixing ATs and MTs. They are quite on the road, but look and perform the part. Imho, road noise is a state of mind. Some people complain about the sound of a mild A/T tire going down the road. But others aren't bothered by the sound of Boggers at road speed.

My dad used to run these super knobby Super king rock tires on our 97 one ton wood truck. Those things were the loudest tires I've ever heard, howled like a hound dog at road speed, I loved it though. Call me weird, but I thought that was the funniest thing ever.
They were even noisy on the dirt road. Had to take it on the highway once... never again, they were screamin.

Loud is when a truck drives by you and you can hear his tires with your windows up. I know M/T tend to be loud on the road. Just seeing what other people are liking. Liking the look/style of those Nitto Ridge Grappler none in 15". Limited on M/T sizes for 15" rims. Can't go wrong with the Toyo M/T

Toyo and Nitto are sister companies, iirc. Toyo has a “hybrid” tire as well. Maybe they have those in 15s. Unfortunately, 15s and 16s are getting phased out and fewer and fewer options are available.

I had a hard time finding 33’s when I looked last year but I was searching for a HT or AT with a nice square profile and OWL or RWL. Yokahama had some decent offerings for a good price

I would be more concerned with a side knob hooking the rear lip of the (front) fender. 33s are too big unless you only top toe around in the city. Twist even a little and you will hear a new sound. So rubbing metal with for example a. AT tire is bad enough, but mud boots with the lugs are much worse.

I have had Wrangler Duratracs on my last three trucks. They are surprisingly quiet considering how aggressive the tread is. They are readily available in 15 and 16 inch sizes, wear well and are good in the snow till the tread gets low. I have only done light off roading so I can't speak for mud bogging performance.

I sold a set to my buddy who has an expedition and he said he likes his (snow time and some bad dirt road but no off road) use. no idea his mileage with them
