I've had both. Imho, the 6.2 has a certain "cool" factor, such as it is.
Back before US 17 was 4 laned, I've almost killed myself with a R10 with a 305 and 2.73 gears.
No ass for passing. None. Zero. Zip. Nada.
Got great mileage though. Tailgate down, 21 mpg without overdrive (Th350c) on the highway.
The 6.2 pretty much the same. Just louder, ruder, and cruder.
It was in my 3/4 ton burb. It actually was better. Got 17 mpg highway with a th400 and 3.73 gears.
If I have any say in the matter I'll never have another 305. They're for mileage only.
