- what was the revelation ?

I decided this was a much better idea sitting at the computer than it was in real life...like so much else. I am surrounded by projects which all seemed like a great idea at the time but I am FAR TOO QUICK to spend money... On dumb **** like these Honda wheels and tires.
Drowning in projects.

I had an alcoholic's Moment of Clarity.

I'm not 16 anymore and would do well rembering that prior to producing the wallet. Ain't that right Helen the Camaro?

it's like I could see the scene from the kitchen. imagine an out of body image appeared in my head and I saw that I too was a slave. These representations of four wheeled freedom have me by the balls. :(

Am I seeing things, or are half of the holes smaller than the other half?

It's true!
On all four wheels, split down the middle.
I had NOT noticed...

That's about eight hours of prep AND paint - including the purchase of the wheels?
A $100 bill represented here.

I threw the hubcaps away and called them rubbish.
RUBBISH!

I have had the same revelation recently.
To many projects and not enough completion.

I don't remember where I heard the idea of being owned by possessions, not the other way around. Dripping sweat on all fours I look up at the broken Camaro and wondered "wtf am I doing? Aren't I too old for this ****? I have a ton of other things to do yet here I am again. Gettin bent over by all my ******* cars.

Who owns who exactly ??
Can't get a spare minute to do.... I dunno...nothing?
Something else that isnt work on cars might be a nice switch.

thanks.

10million times gooder than hubcap black. fer shure !
They were each prepped the same, the only difference was the time spent per. The last one actually went pretty quick. One point five cans of paint spent..
each flash dried by the Oklahoma wind in my backyard and then baked out in the sun outside the patio door! I brought em in at dusk and all four are in the garage under a small fan while I wait on Discount Tire to call with my other pair of 205/55/15s. Glad I got these muggs painted, I think it'll look way better that it did.

and go faster.
and look better.
prolly get better mpg.
will handle better.
will steer better.

YOU look at the speedometer, idgaf...Vtec kicks in at 4500 - that's all you need to know.
shift at 65. hundred. i's got a great big tach where the speedometer oughta be anyways,...
word?

omg THERE WAS a center cap but it was made for 4 lug wheels. I dunno if the center hole is the same for a 5 lug but ima find out cuz look at how freaking cool THIS would be IF I could find some.

:pedobear:

****** A.
Y U almost same color even? :waytogo: Research boy couldn't have done that much better...way gooder color choice than aluminum.
The initial $100 investment has now magically changed to $544 with tires.
Think ima sell the 16s on craigslist.
$275- first come first served! (always gets em) the guys in Discount said $350-400 o_O

:headbang:

Now to find a window tint guy...

xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media

The REAL kicker though?

These steel 15 x 6s only weigh 19 pounds each.

The aluminum 16x6.5s they replaced weigh 24 pounds each.
Lost TWENTY POUNDS switching to steel wheels. It's true! We'll hit the scale @ work.
Ungh.
:33:
I like using factory parts across different models...these are 2007-2012 Accord LX wheels I think. Zero TPMS sensors now, they found two installed and we chunked em. ;)

Keen observers will note the more "traditional" single grille opening of this installed 2006-2008 Civic nose, as opposed to the more "modern" THREE opening nose found on the correct 2009 front bumper cover.
Hideous in comparison.
Research Boy done good, swapped it first chance we got..long time ago after the first time I/he wrecked it lol.

Friggidy-freshhh!

Stay tuned.

The story continues...

This Civic is wildly uncomfortable. I spend too much time in that seat AND IT SUCKS!.
So I took it out.
Research Boy devised a plan and I bought a gray driver seat out of a 100k mile 2009 Civic SEDAN. It's a different fabric pattern but i'm desperate and in pain.
Turns out there is TWO INCHES more shoulder room and the seat is wider...at the shoulders? Just what we need. Hurts like F.

Took it to the carwarsh and cleaned it. VERY WELL because - stranger farts.
Ew.

Bolt in deal. Took longer to find the socket. Driver side only, the passenger side airbag plug is different...but I don't sit over there little dog Franklin does -
and he dont bitch.

Coupe seat on the right, the additional shoulder piece is death, see it?

Clearly see the difference in side bolsters.
WoW right? I ain't crazy - y'all trippin.

Installed I can't dig my hand between the seat and the door anymore but it closes alright...really is 2 inches wider.
Way to go Research Boy!

It's a lot better but that ain't sayin much.:(
The seats SUCK. Bad enough to not buy a Honda...especially if you work 12 hour shifts- them aint the seats you want.

On the scale!

Next project will be to adjust and/or customize the center console because I hate them and can't unbolt this one.
Seems like i'm the only ******* on the planet that don't want to drive around with his elbow in the air.
I don't know when that became a thing but I think it is MISERABLE. Another good reason to not buy a Honda. Ever seen them motorcycle dudes runnin "ape hangers"? I feel like it's the same thing lol. Looks smart.
The Bonneville? That console ALSO sucked and I couldn't do a damn thing about it.
The IROC? Lucky it didn't have one. ain't gonna put one in it, but I have one to build.
The Monte's? It's in the attic, I yanked it decades ago.
Red Sally's? Threw it away...no, it turned into a seat!
HATE CENTER CONSOLES!
One of the Blazer's saving graces is the fact the console is so LOW.
That's how consoles oughta act. They aren't for elbows, they're for stuff and to step on!
Or sit in!

Like you, I've owned a few commuter cars, and trucks. I had a Toyota pickup that was basically a commuter truck, to light duty to do the hauling I need to do but it got 25 mpg and I got it for free. Hated the seats. At the time I was in it 1 1/2 hours each way to work or 15 hours a week. I ended up swapping seats in that.

Center consoles!!! I hear ya, I hate them to! I have a 96 Grand Cherokee the main reason we own it is we wanted a 4X4 and it can haul me, the wife and the dogs. It was also to replace the Toyota I used for a commuter even though the gas mileage in the Jeep would only be mid-teens. Problem is the high ass hump and center counsel. There is very little foot room on the floor to. I just don't enjoy driving it all that much, so I'm in the square 99% the time.

It looks like your going to turn that Honda into a good commuter!
