I'm looking for someone with a truck like mine to help out by measuring their rear driveshaft. I'm in the middle of an engine swap and while I have it all apart I took the shafts in to the local expert shop to have them rebuilt and balanced. Did NOT anticipate the guy saying "hey, are you sure this is the correct shaft"? Looking at the slip yoke, he said it looks like it's not going into the transfer case far enough (only about 1/2 of it is shiny from being inside the seal).
I have a 1991 3/4 ton 4wd, 350, and 4L80E - which I thought was bone stock. (I bought it surplus from the State of OR about 15 years ago and have never modified it before).
If you've got one of these, would you be so kind as to measure the length from u-joint to u-joint, and also from u-joint to rear seal of the transfer case? If by any chance you've got it out of the vehicle I could ask for more dimensions, but asking to take it out would be going too far! :O
Thanks,
Scott
