Is there a grease seal or cap that's used on the 4WD front driveshaft to keep dirt out of the spline area where the two parts fit together and slide?

There's a cap that's threaded on the short end...does that retain a seal?

It would have to be shaped like a starfish to be effective I imagine. :shrug:

Yes, that is called a dust shield and they are available through Denny's driveshafts in splined and non splined variety. Just have to measure the shaft diameter and count splines.
