It's cool - prolly fixed it but I can't be certain yet. I've bought so many parts lately I decided to only show them as the get installed. - I LOST a battle with the parking brake handle yesterday but managed to patrol in my car last night and that! was rad AF.
I'm patrolling in it now...s'all burped out with the coolant and thangs.
Im havin a good time lately. Don't tell anybody that might mess everything up..

The heater core failed the other day - last week I guess. Glad I had just put down them spanky new floormats because they caught all the antifreeze!
Having difficulty finding a copper/brass rellacement and have an appointment in the shop TUESDAY. I drive this car 7 days a week, it can't be down overnight.

I've had two people say I need another door, two say fix it. I want to fix it of course. Ima turn a Camaro Chris loose on it and see if he can fix the hinges - he thinks he can so wish me luck! I don't care if it has pucky in it or not COST will be the determining factor. Oh well.
I am hoping the K5 comes alive easy enough so I can park this bad girl in the garage. If I knew i would have to drive it 7 days a week - I wouldn't have bought it. ******* stressball nightmare!
So far it is NOT turning out how I want.

**** it. Watch me buy another truck and turn it into a daily before my Blue Ox makes it out of the shop.

Camaro Chris called in sick Monday the 16th. Tuesday he went to the doctor and my appointment moved to Thursday.

The windows only fog if the engine is running, see what I mean?

Ugh. Park in the garage and GO AWAY. :mad: I want out of this car! So happy about the door...

*edit* the louvers are tracked to arrive on Monday, the 24th. :gay::gay::gay:

Dont give up, you have too much into this thing and its too cool of a car. If driving a 30 year old car daily was easy there would be a lot more people doing it. Whered you get that fluid from? Heater core swap or oil change?

I daily drive a 45 year old car everyday of the year from the suburbs to the heart of downtown.
You will get through it!
It took me a while to work all the crap out with my little car before it was reliable.

I've always daily driven old stuff too. Some of them you just buy it and drive it, dead nuts reliable. Others may fight you every step of the way, but they always give in eventually.

sounds like its time for a $500 beater with a heater and time to build that engine like GM should have...Any intreset in a holley stealth ram intake for that car lol

Did I mention the part about f*ck .my.life? Boy, I sure meant to because f*ck.my.life! Omg grr.

I drove it like that for TWO DAYS without knowing....i'm positive that does WONDERS for the bearings!
The crankcase eventually became SO OVERFULL that the car would barely run.

Why the **** am I STILL having to add coolant ?

Been pumping water into the crankcase for days....and I was drivin it around tryin to see how fast it would go.:suicide:

I told Bryan after the heater core that I bet the water pump would soon fail because it looks very questionable but nooooo...way too cheap..my bet now is on cracked cylinder head.

I bought some of the Bar's Leak schtuff I had such fantastic luck with in the 75K5, some oil and a filter, KNoWING it was gonna rain ALL DAY AND NIGHT.

I don't want to drive it in the rain damnit.

**** that Camaro, we are officially in a fight but at least her fine ass is FINALLY locked in the garage like was originally intended. Just not quite the way we had all hoped. :(

I have spent almost all of the settlement money from the K5 wreck and of course can no longer afford to rebuild it - right this second but I want to make it a 9/16 Tuned Port and started looking for a 3.562 stroke crank today but do not find one for a one piece block. Hm.

My plan included;

Crane 2032 camshaft
6 inch rods
I have the headers and y pipe...
Nothin major. They need coated. $400!
That's enough to satisify my need to mess with it. Will require custom chip I think though? Gotta be relatively stock - ish. ;)

I wonder what's gonna happen.
If it doesn't have 083 heads on it, she WILL unless I can find a great deal on 58cc aluminum Corvette 113s.

Don't pretend for one second there will be any sort of shenanigans under that hood. Vortec deez nuts.

I've got at least $430 in that intake manifold job that lasted 2 months? I want very, very badly to just pull the motor so I can make the car RIGHT and it has not ever - in the time i've owned it, been right.. By my own hand, at my leisure, it will be. Mark my words. She's not going ANYWHERE (for a very long time) :(
Let's not even discuss the $1000+ worth of parts and the console I have what needs installed which is all wasted into limbo now. :(

Eh, I still think you should pull off the oil cooler adapter and pressure test it. Pretty sure I remember seeing it in your pics. When that style cooler fails, it can make a big mess right quick.

Think that's the first time I've seen IROC-Z rims on a vette. Usually the vette rims on a camaro. Anyway, good luck with Helen and getting that bitch in line.

I enjoy using this site in part for the vast wealth of knowledge and experience found within. I value your input and will most-assuredly spend some time looking into that. Thank you very much.

My $500 beater with a heater turned into a $3000 K5 that I paid the magical $1750 for... :(

I've been studying about this latest debacle. Turns out GM issued a TSB about the engine oil coolers some 30 years ago.. I spoke to Gary Camaro and Corvette Chris, Brother Bryan, about my tuned port nightmare and I believe the NEXT logical step is curing my IROC's cooling woes is deleting the oil cooler.

I do NOT believe I have a cracked head or worse.

Seems to me that is going to be the cheapest and relatively easiest way to get the water out of the oil.

Certainly worth looking into and my next stop.

But she's still in trouble.
We're still in a fight.
She's been grounded to her room with NO TV lol.
