1987 scottsdale led guage cluster fuel guage not working accurately.

Just bought a 87 scottsdale long bed. It has a new led guage cluster and just today the fuel guage is reading either half or full tank of gas. Start the truck it goes from half to full. Turn the truck off let it sit while I was at work. Start the truck again it goes from full to half. Early this morning I was at almost empty. Where should I start to fix this in accurate reading.

It's probably not a gauge issue it sender related and ground most likely.
