Hey I'm new to the forum and I was really curious as to what my truck was worth as a classic/antique. I own a 1987 Gmc sierra classic 1500 short bed . It is completely factory and in Great shape.
Trucks information: 87 gmc sierra classic 1500 only 40K miles on it it has the factory rallywheelswith the chrome beauty rings, its only had one owner until 2020 when I obtained it. The motor is the original 350 fuel injected motor and original transmission, it has power doors/windows.
Cruise control, and AC that works. It has the original carpet and cloth headliner the does not have any sag. It has 2 fuel tanks and the factory switch to cross over from tank to tank.
Everything works on the truck and it runs good. The body does not have any dents in it at all or scratches. No broken or cracked glass

Things it needs : the truck had set for a good while before I obtained it . That being said the stick on trim moldings have came off as well from it sitting the clear coat has came off in a good number of places so it needsa new paint job. The only spot of actual rust in the entire truck it on the driver's side rear quarter and it is about the size of a quarter. It could use a tune up but thats about it I've drove the truck here and there but for the most part I just leave it in the driveway so I don't stack any miles on it .

If someone could inform me on the value of this truck I would greatly appreciate it .

Also the original owner before me special ordered this truck. There is a plaque on the front of the glove box that reads Built by GMC for and the original owners name. I thought that was interesting I've never seen that before!

Thank you

Could probably get at least $1,500 based on the description. Like said above, a lot of other factors drive the value up from there but very subjective and what someone is actually willing to give you cash money for.

Have some good pictures taken and put it on Bring A Trailer as-is, that'll tell you what it's worth

Pics would help but as mentioned location matters.
The truck checks most boxes with the options you mentioned.
Sounds like my 87 R10 Silverado SWB

Did you buy to keep or are you trying to flip?

It's probably only worth what you paid for it.

2wd is a non starter in my neck of the woods. That truck would bring 2k tops.

Same here, in my area there's an absolutely mint 80's red c10 with a 6 cyl and 4 speed, low miles. Been up for sale for 3 grand for 5 months or so now and still for sale. If it was 4x4 it woulda been gone a long time ago, probs doesn't help it's a 6 cyl

Looks like you dangled this "whats it worth" line out to see if it hit your number.

What do you want to sell it for?

Metal looks good. Thats a plus
Paint does not. Thats a big ding and would kill any hope of a 5 figure pay day.
Original mileage is low which is nice.
Bed rails and tool box need to go. 2wd short bed trucks are now pretty much exclusively sport trucks/cruisers. Take that "this trucks been used look" off.
One previous owner is nice. If you can float that original title makes it cooler for the next owner to say "bought from original owner"

With some money put in and good pictures I think you can get around 6-7k. As is I would say 4-5k tops. Ebay might be a good place for it having such a broad audience. Seller fees are kinda steep for cars though.

Welcome to the site. Values vary depending on where the vehicle is for sale. A truck like that could be worth 2k in the southern states but 3.5k in the northern states because of no rust.
