Hi everyone, I have a 1984 K10 and have run out of luck finding the correct PS pressure hose.

The hose I took off has an o-ring end on the pump side (correct) and a flare on the steering box side (??).

The new hose part #71088 from autozone has all the right bends but both ends are o-ring seals. And I have no way of connecting in to the steering box.

This is a 305 K10 with the saginaw pump.

Any idea what is the correct hose part number that has an o-ring seal on the pump side and a flare seal on the steering box?

Thanks

Do you have a picture of both hoses?

And dare I say... did the autozone parts person look at the right make, model, year, engine code?

Maybe the gear has been replaced by nd older gear? May have to have a new one "built" by a good shop or parts house?

Yep. The gearbox should have the o-ring style on an '84. The options are either swap out the box, have a hose made, or run an SAE-to-metric adapter.

Thanks, I saw the adapters that would convert the oring seal to flare (see attached image).

I also tried removing that flare thing with some needle nose pliers from the steering box thinking someone had added that adapter in there and the steering box was actualy a 1984 oring style, but no. The flare didn't come out.

I would need the opposite, an adapter that would change the male flare on the steering/gear box to receive the oring hose end.

Does anyone know if these adapters exist? flare to oring? SAE to metric?

I've seen the adapters before, they thread in. Another thought, you can also change the fitting on the pump and run a hose for an older truck.

Thanks Bucket, I would like to keep it as simple as possible, with an adapter on the box and the new o-ring hose that I already have.

All I need is to identify which fitting I need to make that connection and be done with it.

Its a beater truck I'd like to keep running for hauling stuff but don't want to spend time messing with it if I don't have to.

I just found these on eBay. Seems they could be the correct thread sizes, need to confirm that later today with my caliper and thread gauges.

Those should do the trick.
