Your truck is really old,,,older than mine,,,so you have to go through and just replace whatever worn parts you know are bad and go from there,,,,if you've got clunking it can be one part or a combination of worn parts,,,id start with rebuildin your driveshafts and go from there,,,my burb had a bad trans mount which I think was causing the main problem in my driveline clunking and I didn't realize it was bad until I removed the transfer case (cuz it visually looked ok). You should be able to get a new u joint from any parts store,,,,ive nvr rebuilt a driveshaft like ur front shaft you might be able to do the joint yourself,,,I take mine to a local driveshaft guy who does really good work because he balances them, does really good work, he lengthened the slip yoke on my rear shaft 2 in due to my lift and I no longer have any driveline clunk,,

You don't need a new one you just have yours rebuilt. You might be able to replace the u joints yourself (rebuilding it yourself) but I think the u joints are pressed in,,,I've done rears before the ones held in with the clips and theyre easy,,and you also have that splined slip yoke in the middle of your front shaft,,,it should have a boot clamped on it to prevent dirt/water whatever from getting inside those splines and dryin em out,,theyre supposed to be greased and ive heard they can wear out too,,,

One more thing if you do your own u joints I wouldn't just buy the cheapest brand,,,try to get quality u joints not cheap Chinese parts cuz I wouldn't want to have a u joint fail out on a trail somewhere,,,,

Oo that probably would be cheaper to have mine rebuilt.

I got my tom woods front drive shaft and got it bolted in and no more clunking!! But when installing it i had to stretch it alittle to get it to bolt up.

ok you got the noise fixed. next you either need to put a 205 transfer case in(best case) or convert that 203 to part time(2nd best). highdesertranger

Could i drop the 203 and bolt up a 205 right in its place? Or will i need to shorten the rear shaft and get adapters for the tranny?

You'll need a 205 adapter , complete shifter , and lengthen your drive shaft.
