1974 k10 cab restoration

Alright I’m coming here for advice I’ve Owned my truck for 5 years bought it when I was a senior in highschool got the itch to restore it finally well the cab has the usual rust in rockers and cab corners, my question is how much would a body man charge to replace all that if I already had the parts, I’d probably get it down to bare metal myself but I’m just trying to figure out cost or if it’s best to attempt it myself

It depends on whether you get a trailer park yo-yo to do it or a reputable, regional body shop, not to mention the options in between. For two sets of each, I could see that being anywhere from $750 to $1500 without getting any primer, paint, clear, or requisite blending done by whomever you hire. I’m in a similar boat, I’ve got to replace the rockers and cab corners on one side of a truck I just got, and I’m gonna grab me a classifieds welding machine (looking at flux core unit for $75) and a HFT cutting tool and get to work on it myself.

Well I’ve found some nice cabs around me for $500-1500 but people keep telling me it’s best to fix the original cab to keep the numbers matching I mean I got buddies that are certified welders we could do it ourselves but I don’t wanna screw anything up which if I did it myself I’d leave the cab bolted to the frame and if I got someone else to do it I’d probably remove the cab

That’s the only picture I got of the truck but now all that’s on the frame is the cab and drive train I plan on painting it a blue color again but the original color of the truck was green
