I agree.

Today I talked to the fella that does the sandblasting. He says they rarely use sand (they are industrial) but says that whenever they have an order that calls for sand they'll call me and get my truck in with it. He also said he would spray epoxy primer on the surfaces, and he has a special epoxy made for industrial apps that is badass. basically hard as hell, but can be sanded still for the color I would spray it. So that frame should last a while after that!

So I'm waiting for his call, in the meantime I need to finish getting the cab off the frame and then bust down ALL the suspension off it.

I mentioned earlier I am buying the necessary brackets to convert my truck to power steering, and now I found the info needed to convert to power brakes. Excited is an understatement!:High 5:

Still waiting on word from the trans guy. Calling him tomorrow. In the meantime I knocked some of the small **** out.

Bought these things from classic parts.com. Just to have on the shelf when I get ready for them. I'll have 2-3 days off this weekend to pull the cab and its contents off the frame, and get the frame ready for sandblast.

Radiator support
rad draincock
rad cap
rad support mounting kit
fender emblems
inner fender seals
splash panel for radiator
lower and upper radiator rubber mounts
rad support to radiator seal
inner fender mounting grommets
hood bumper set
hood to cowl seal
front hood to rad seal
hood hinge springs
front fender to cab seals
cab mounting kit-polyurethane
tailgate hinges
front bed panel to bedsides bolts
windshield weatherstrip
rear glass-big window weatherstrip with chrome lock bead and tool
rear trailing arm bushing kit-polyurethane
rear axle to trailing arm u-bolts
rear stabilizer bushing kit polyurethane
Heater motor (already have new fan and rebuilt core)
firewall grommet set
and a complete door weatherstrip kit incuding felt and all that.

Grand total is $777.51.

After I call the trans guy and see how much the rebuild will be tomorrow, then I can look into buying a power steering box, hoses and power steering pump, as well as a booster and master cylinder to store until needed. Also need all new steering components, inner outer tierods, upper and lower u-joints etc. I already purchased the custom bracketry needed to install power steering and braking.

BTW-I just found the painless wiring kit I needed to have lock up, I'll buy it when the sticker shoc from classicparts subsides lol. It was so easy to find on their site!

Are you fuggin kidding me? $210? We can do alot better than that. For one, your trans should already have the solonoid in it, the vac switch I think is about $30 and you can usually find a wiring kit for about $60 which I even think is to much, but I am also a cheap **** and won't overpay for anything, and also take my knowledge for granted that I can make my own damn wiring kit. At any rate, go for the this kit if you like PainintheassLess high prices. Its at Summit for $162. Save the $50 and take the wife to dinner.

BTW, I just noticed this is the same part # too, so its got all the same stuff in the kit. Probably identical since its the same part #. I've got several of those firewall vac switches form Pull A Part, and the locking solenoid is already in 700r4 transmissions. Hook a vac line to the switch on the firewall, and wire to the plug on the trans case is about as easy as it is.

Just a tip, don't rush the trans guy. I can honestly say, I had alot going on one time, and a guy begged and begged and begged for me to build his trans til I finally gave in. Of course he expected a deal too cuz he knew me. Notice I said he knew me, I didn't say he was a friend or family, he just knew me from a biz transaction. So I open up his piece of **** core and told him I couldn't use it to come see it. Showed him all that, so it took him 2 weeks to get me another core. By then I was really booked up. I told him it would be a week or so before I could get to it. Rigth at 6 days, he starts emailing, and I told him probably by the weekend but not sure. By monday he's texting and blowing up my damn phone. I told him, sorry man, to much going on I'm gonna need a couple days. So then he calls and seemed like an ass and wanted to know what my problem was that I've had it for over a week and haven't got it done. I told him, man you know I told you 100x I have way to much going on to take on another project but you insitsted. I had a small break in time and I finally agreed and you brought me a POS. 2 weeks later after I'm covered up, you want to breathe down my neck, but that's OK, I'll put **** aside and take care of yours cuz I need you off my ****** back. What kind of job do you think he got??? **** I put that ****** together dirty, didn't even pull the pump apart to clean it and measure the gears cuz I know a Th400 rarely wears gears. Didn't replace half the bushings. If they looked fair, I left them alone. Trust me, I wasn't proud of that job, but its still working just fine today. Thankfully !!! I'll never tell any differant to anyone he might know.

I'm anxious cause I dont have time to work on it. So I try to make up for it by trying to secure everything I might need in the coming weeks/months.

I have to work 10 overtime tomorrow but SUnday and Monday are mine. Id like to get the cab off the frame, even if I leave everything still in the cab for now. I need to get that frame tore down so I'm ready when the sandblasting guy calls.

Hey HRPC...You saw the engine I'll be running-that crate you suggested. What intake should I buy and carb? I wwas thinking about having a Q-jet completely rebuilt
