I want to keep the stock look of the dog dish hubcaps on my '79 C30 and change to 16" wheels instead of the 16.5's. Are there any 8 lug wheels out there that will work.

Yes, you just have to search. The ones on my 87 R20 burb are 16s and take the OEM hubcaps :) See pic in my signature. I found the set I'm running on Craigslist. You can also find them from time to time on eBay

You can also source steel wheels from Ford trucks/vans that will accept our caps. I think any factory 16" steel wheel (GM or Ford) our hubcaps go on are 6.5" wide.

Wheel Vintiques 82 Series wheels also accept our hubcaps and come in wider than stock sizes, 16x7, 16x8, and 16x10. They are between $100-$130 each on Summit. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/wvi-82-680804/overview/

Lot's of OEM 16" wheels at the salvage and tire yards. I usually get them for about $20. As mentioned, plenty of 16" dog dishes on ebay. The Ford 16" will work, then only difference is that it's center hole is about 1/8" larger in dia than it needs to be.
