15" rims over 8 lug 10 bolt front and 14 bolt

ok...so I'm in the process of gathering parts for my 14 FF and 8 lug hub swap. I'm looking at wheels now. I really don't want to buy new tires since mine are only a year old. Will a 15" rim fit over a 10 bolt 8 lug hub ? and how about the 14 bolt FF ?

Here's a couple of guys that have 15" wheels on there trucks. I believe you have to grind on the front calipers to make them fit.

15” will fit over the 8 lug brakes
But you have to grind some metal off the caliper

15” 8 lug wheels are very rare though

Unless you already have some I wouldn’t count on being able to find any

If I had it to do over again I wouldn’t swap to 8 lug

I did the swap because I kept breaking the 10 and 12 bolt axles just with normal street driving with 33 or 35” tires

But I’ve since learned that some models of the Avalanche came with 14 bolt semi float 6 lug rear axles

That would have been a better way to go I think

thanks for the info. 4 wheel parts has some 15" 8 lugs I'm gonna grab. for now its cheaper than buying new tires . next time I need tires I will get 37" BFG and a 16 or 17" rim

I didn’t know anyone still made 8 lug 15s

And it’s a scam that for every inch over 15 the price of the tire goes up $80-100

A 35x17 tire costs $200 more than the exact same tire in 15

Theres LESS material in the tire yet they jack the price

look at Hercules Iron Man tires, bought a set of 35x12.5R20 for $800, set of comparable BFGs were $1400.

Look for wheels that are 3 1/2 back space , summit has a few , bart super trucker's , raceline , us wheel. I did the grind in front and ran drop in 1/8 or 1/4 inch spacer's as well. My crew cab has bart 15x12 super truckers.

I just did a similar thing to my truck. I already had the 14 FF on the rear, but finally upgraded my front to the 8 lug.

I initially ordered some wheels from 4 wheel parts, but they didn't actually have any in stock and gave me a couple month back order time frame.

I ended up cancelling and ordering these from Summit. They were in stock and shipped free in a couple of days. They have a 4.125 in. backspace, so no spacers required. I did need to do a little grinding on the caliper though, as others have stated.

got my rig running last year on 16" tires (33" TreadWrights) on 6 lug wheels, and just installed my 14bff 2 weeks ago. At the moment, I carry 2 spares, one 8 lug and one 6 lug. But I have in the queue the spindles off of the same donor vehicles for the 14bff, for the front. I just bit the bullet and went 16" from the start. So yeah I will have some 16" 6 lugs to sell off some time

I also have the Bart wheels from Summit. 15x12 with 3.5" bs. 14b and a d60. Grinding was required. They are heavy but inexpensive.

Tire prices are based on how common they are. When most light duty trucks ran a 15" wheel, that size was cheap and easy to find. Now that the larger wheel sizes are more common, those tires are coming down in price as the 15"s are going up. Has nothing to do with size, and everything to do with market saturation. Look at the 16.5 tires. As those wheels disappeared, the tires to fit them have become more expensive, and more difficult to find.

they fit perfectly. just test fitted my bart 15x10 with a 3.5" BS. fit with zero rubs.

so FYI to all ordering from 4 wheel parts (which I am not a fan of). after I ordered my wheels from them on a huge sale they had going on and I paid for expedited shipping...4 days later they still hadn't shipped. I called them to find out what was going on. apparently those procomp wheels are on back order for 90 days and have been on back order since june. damn really? you couldn't have called me to fill me in. or put it on the website that these wheels are probably never going to available again...pretty ****** way to do business. not to mention when I called them they treated me like I was somehow the ******* and blah blah blah.

long story short I found some barts at summit for 300$ shipped. can beat that. the wheels were here the day after I ordered them. yay me
