It is the same parts as the 3/4 ton Dana 44 but the only reason the parts are different is to accommodate the slightly larger brake caliper.

But isn't the outer bearing smaller than the standardized '77-up stuff?

I looked a little at the bearing #'s across a couple of various parts sites and the general usage guide. It confused me at first and then I realized it was showing me the 2wd version of the 1972 and earlier version. When I finally looked at the 4wd version it shows the same bearing as the later Dana 44 and 10 bolts. It's listed as a National brand bearing, part # A-35.

I looked them up across Advance Auto and Rock Auto.com.

Rock auto gave me the dimensions below:

National A35
Taper Bearing Set Includes Cup and Cone; Cone Bore=1.625", Cone Length=0.78", Cone Radius=0.14", Cup Outer Diam=2.891, Cup Length=0.58", Cup Radius=0.031"

The 2Wd version is way smaller, as you can imagine, since it is for a spindle shaft, and maybe that is where the confusion starts, someone might not have realized there is no K5 model to lookup and when they first clicked on Blazer they got the first option, which was the 2wd Blazer, and when I looked up the 80's it defaulted to 4wd.

I don't know how Blazer's ever got brought into this as there were never any 3/4 ton Blazers. but I did look up 3/4 ton trucks and they are different between the HD and the later 44 and 10 bolts. highdesertranger

no worries but the D44 HD was never offered on 1/2 tons or Blazers and Jimmy's. only 8 lug 3/4 tons. highdesertranger
