Anyone had any trouble with their 10 bolts leaking where the axle tube goes into the differential housing ? Mine developed a leak there , and I am unsure how to go about repairing it. It doesn't look like there is any kind of seal to replace there .any help is greatly appreciated. Trying to get my square roadworthy again and seems like it's one hiccup after the other .

It leaks there. It’s a thing. It’s more of a seep. I usually have them leak a bit after I reweld them. Rumor is you can spin a tube. So when I’m doing any work. I reweld them. After a while the leaking stops. I wouldn’t worry about it. RTB.

sounds like you have a loose axle tube. sometimes the plug welds let loose. There is no seal , they are press fit and then welded. your best bet will probably be to replace the whole assembly.

Here is a pic of it cleaned. Then the next pic should show where I weld them. My guess is... it’ll stop leaking after.

Well don’t leave me hanging. What did ya do?
Took it to shop my buddy works at , we pulled rearend , drained and he welded her up , no leaks since , but happy I decided to do it that way cause the oil in that rearend was awful , PO must not have ever changed it , "Tina is much happier now , and my 600cfm carb , came yesterday so I'll be swapping the 500 cfm in the truck with the new , and should wake her up even more , PO did not take care of her so I have been going down the list getting her right and right , by the time I'm done I feel like everything will be new on her , thanks again !

I cleaned a bunch of sludge off mine last night and found several spots that are leaking. Several plug welds are cracked or have a hole. Looks like it's coming out to get a better look.
