    Cab leaking

Hi Everyone! So, I finally have an update on my leaky kick panels. Both panels have been off for sometime now. I JB welded every screw hole over and tested heavy water flow. Things looked ok. In picture two, that is the drain hole many have mentioned on this forum. I ran a coat hanger all...

    Cab leaking

Thanks! Yeah those are super clear. Flowing nicely. I also find a damn wasp’s nest up in there today too. The drip from above is going to be tough to locate/fix.

    Cab leaking

Update! I have decided for the time being to just JB Weld the screw holes for the kick plates over. It has been effective. They were seeping quite a bit. I also have a very slow drip by the heater box or whatever behind the glove compartment. Of course that one looks like it is beyond my time...

    Cab leaking

Ok folks, I have cleared debris from the wheel wells, sealed the ridiculous, two layer firewall and everything else I can think of and the cab still leaks into the driver and passenger side floors. I have brand new carpet and insulation and now I am back to square one. Do I just need to friggin...

    Delco Radio Short

I have the original delco radio in my 87 R10. It looks great and sounds great when it plays. I replaced the wire harness because the tabs looked worn out. So, I figured the connections were not snug. It didn’t fix the problem. Basically if I apply pressure on the side of the harness, pushing it...

    Rust Options

Awesome! Thank you midnight! I am very pleased with how the sheet metal looks on this truck. It's remarkable. The stuff I applied thus far was super easy to apply and seems to be of high quality.

    Rust Options

Hi everyone! I am doing some slight rust work and was wondering. I applied the product in the link below so is POR15 redundant? https://a.co/d/4UskXMi

    Vent window adjustment?

It is the L shaped frame. The first three inches or so at the bottom is nice and easy. The rest just feels like a machine needs to do it. Seems like the rib inside the seal is a MM too thick. Says the attachment is too large when I try a picture.

    Vent window adjustment?

I am trying to get the vent window seal on the L shaped frame. Any tricks on getting it on without having cardiac arrest, fatally stabbing myself with a tool, slicing my hand open or ruining the strip trying to get it in the channel? I am one frustrating hour into the passenger side. I try lube...

    Shake, rattle and roll!

Also, the shake does sometimes feel like a knot on my tire but can’t find one. And great tread.

    Shake, rattle and roll!

Lol. What is messing with my mind is why it isn’t consistent. BTW, I put a new imported EGR in like two months ago and the code is back. Never ends.

    Shake, rattle and roll!

Hi guys! 1987 R10 with 305. I experience two distinct types of shaking and both are intermittent. Shake 1: the truck seems to hate 35-45 mph. It sometimes shakes while accelerating and cruising and shakes similarly but more violently when braking down through those speeds. 2 out of 10 times...

    Brake shoe placement?

A guy helped me out. Had to grind down the bar that fits between the shoes, that is under the wheel cylinder.

    Brake shoe placement?

It's all back together. The adjuster is all the way down and I even opened the bleeder screw to get the pins in the wheel cylinder pushed in further. Is there another tip for getting the drum back on besides beating the ever loving **** out of the old one with a hammer in frustration?

    Brake shoe placement?

Hey there. I was planning on bleeding both sides and replacing the fluid in the master cylinder a little at a time until it runs clean.

    Brake shoe placement?

I think I am good now and thank you for the replies! The picture gave me that extra confidence. It is a lot sturdier now that it is all together. Now I am just struggling to get the drum over all of it. Also, there is a little brass cup that goes in the hole on the left, under the yellow...

    Brake shoe placement?

What's up square body friends? So, I have been enjoying myself doing my first drum brake job on my 87 R10. I have found amazing videos on Youtube and I'm about 90% there but that 10% is driving me nuts. A few things eating at me..... 1) Do the shoes sit deep in the lip of the backing plate...

    Rear Brake Options 87

I have a 1987 R10 Silverado. Have been agonizing over my rear brake options. Option 1: purist approach and install new drum brakes. Option 2: disc brake conversion with the kit requiring axel removal. Option 3: bolt on disc brake conversion that doesn’t require axel removal. I will likely...

All good there. I pulled all of them from the panel down below the steering wheel.

    Fuel Selector Switch Issue

Hi all, I was replacing my fuel tank selector switch today in my 1987 R10. I was prying the plug from the back of the switch with a screwdriver. Problem is I was lazy and didn't disconnect the negative battery cable. There was a small zap when the screwdriver touched the contact and the truck...

    AC wooshing and smoking

Hi everyone! I replaced my throttle body today and was trying to troubleshoot high idle. I had my AC on high and started to hear a wooshing sound and then white smoke came out of the engine compartment and the vents inside the cab. Is it just out of refrigerant?
