Do I rebuild my SBC or swap for an LS3?
I'm a fan of the 350 for sure. I'm 61 years old and have had plenty of them. But now it's the new "350" ls swap time! I just picked up an 03 silverado and pulled the motor/trans/harness/pcm and a lot more. I'll do a gentle refresh on the motor and then start the install. Its a big deal to do but...- cjdock

Are pneumatic tools obselete?
Big fan of battery tools. Just very convenient and no compressor noise! (or hose) Though, for my air chisel its air all the way. -

What have you done to your square lately??
Adjusted the kickdown cable this past weekend. Wow, I waited a bit long to do that, its so much nicer to drive with it holding gears like it should and actually downshifting. Also added in LED lightbulbs to the dash. Easy job, plug and play and what a difference. -

Wow, yea prices have gone up a lot for squares these days. All you guys getting them for 1000 were lucky, those days are gone for anything half decent. 87 Stock TBI 350 air cleaner lid flip upside down? Does it help? does it hurt? good or bad idea?
One thing to add, I am using this setup. I still get some outside air in, plus the top down affect and the flipped lid affect. Do you guys watch Engine Masters? They had an episode that compared pulling air in through the top of air cleaner like what I attached, versus a stock type that forces the air to bend 90 degrees first. Truck left me stranded today.
Do you have a return line for the setup? If not I'd add one. My 85 c10 has an in tank pump and a pressure regulator in the engine compartment with gauge, and a return line. Q-jet carb. Starts instantly every time.- cjdock
