    700r4 pump noise

Any recommendations on where I can get a gauge? And I test all of this with the TV cable connected or disconnected?

    700r4 pump noise

Hello all, I have a 1987 R10 with a 700r4 out of 1986 C10. I had it rebuilt in 2018 and have had zero issues up until last week. The weekend before I drove the truck no issues, parked it for a week and went to take it out and all of a sudden it’s slipping bad right out of the driveway, barely...

87 TBI oil pressure sender wire

I’m sorry guys I know it’s probably on here somewhere I tried looking. I just did an engine swap on my 87 R10 and I went to a carb instead of TBI. I just need to know the color of the oil pressure sender wire for the gauge so I can jump it from the fuse block. The original engine I pulled out...

1987 TBI fuel gauge out of range

I recently bought a 1987 R10 and it’s a pretty nice original truck, the fuel gauge works but it’s just out of range. When I fill it up the gauge reads at about 3 o’clock and the when the tank is dry it reads 1/4 full. I’m guessing probably a ground issue or possibly the gauge itself?

    Which fuel return is best?

Yeah probably right, I think it might be only after the truck is shut off so that would make sense

    Which fuel return is best?

it only bubbles when its hot after driving, it doesn't do it if its cool outside im talkin on a hot day. and I do actually have one of those spacers your talkin about. but if I did run this set up id plug up the return fitting on the pump.

    Which fuel return is best?

I have an edelbrock AVS2 and it has 2 fuel inlets on either side, one side is plugged so it is just the one for now but I have a clear fuel filter and after driving on hot days I can see the fuel boiling in it. Now there is no vapor lock and it does not seem to interrupt drivability too much...

700r4 not shifting out of 1st

Any of yall know what the two wires in my hand do? it is for the TCC lockup. the green and blue are hooked up right but I ditched all of the emissions stuff and forgot what they hook up too. I had another vacuum switch and that worked fine for a month until the whole transmission didn't wanna...

700r4 not shifting out of 1st

Do you know what causes it to stick? Because like I said the governor stuck too so maybe just debris?

700r4 not shifting out of 1st

Yeah they’re great, I got 2:73’s in the back with TCC lockup and mine runs about 1800 at 80 mph, not great for racing but I’ll take the MPG lol

700r4 not shifting out of 1st

Well now I’m not disagreeing with you, but I didn’t know if the dimensions were the same so I didn’t wanna have to get another driveshaft, crossmember, shift linkage and whatever else, I just went for what I knew would be cheap and bolt right in

700r4 not shifting out of 1st

You were right, some guy on another forum said to mash the gas 10 times and let it snap back and that was the fix lol.

700r4 not shifting out of 1st

I don’t know what it is with me and transmissions but we just can’t get along. I had my original 700r4 professionally rebuilt about a month ago and last night I got on it nothing to crazy and it wouldn’t shift... pulled over checked TV cable and it was fine everything seemed ok, got it home left...

    700r4 gear hunting

I also was curious about cooling, I have the water cooled trans cooler in the radiator but I’m wondering if an external air cooler would be better since the one in the radiator only cools the transmission fluid as cool as the coolant gets

    700r4 gear hunting

Yeah I got a Edelbrock AVS2 and an Edelbrock performer intake but I’m using the original throttle cable bracket and TV cable that came with the truck. I have a Edelbrock throttle cable bracket but the hardline going from the back of the carb to the brake booster is in the way so I’m gonna get a...

    700r4 gear hunting

I bought the transmission off eBay from a company called ATracing world the other 700r4 is original to the truck the rebuilt one just didn’t come with a lockup it says it’s built for mild street/strip use but the carb/TV cable geometry is is not a straight line it’s about half in inch off

    700r4 gear hunting

I have a rebuilt 700r4 and it’s “hunting” between 3rd and 4th gear. I’ve been reading up on it trying to figure out what could fix it and can’t seem to find a definite answer, I see that it’s apparently a common problem on F body Camaros. It’s not that big a deal it’s just annoying. It does not...

    700r4 problems

Problem found, somehow my trans fluid disappeared, I got some of that Lucas oil stop slip and put a little in and I know transmission additives aren’t usually good to use but I figured what the hell. My guess is a valve was stuck or a passageway or something but got home pulled the dipstick out...

    700r4 problems

It’s a hard lesson I learned not trust eBay lol but my other transmission was on its last leg I could tell and the cost to rebuild it was the same to buy a rebuilt one so that’s what I did. I don’t know about internals of a transmission I did an engine swap and in the process took the trans...

    700r4 problems

so my truck originally came with a 700r4 and it’s pretty tired shifting from each gear takes a little longer than it should. So I searched for a cheap one can across a company named AT Racing World on eBay that sold them fairly cheap now I know that was my big mistake was buying a transmission...

    Intake gaskets

It’s just for exhaust crossover, I think it’s to help equalize pressure and/or to help with heat distribution but I’ve ran gaskets with and without the hole and there’s not much of a difference, in my opinion if the originals have the hole than I’d make holes in the new ones

    Carb and vacuum line problems

No I understand if you want to keep it all you can but the motor doesn’t need any of it to run right. And if you keep it in and experience problems it’s just harder to trace. By all means keep it all I just had a lot of people tell me to take it all out and it worked for me

    Carb and vacuum line problems

Yep that’s form the EGR valve on the intake, it really does nothing and it probably doesn’t work, as far as the valve on the manifold it should be open without vaccum, if you want to you can undo the linkage from the valve and try and free it up with some WD-40

    Carb and vacuum line problems

Yes this is how my truck looked when I got it, the original 305 and Rochester carb spaghetti lines everywhere. Over time I gradually figured out what lines I could take off and what ones I couldn’t for the engine to run ok. All my smog equipment like pump and charcoal canister I yanked out. Here...
