So as I get closer to working on the nova, I wanted feedback from any of you nova guys. I have scrounged two mustang ford 9" rears, though I know they will have to be shortened. Plan on using Church Boys tri bar four length. I also can get an 8.8 Explorder rearend, they are great, easy to...

    Garage upgrade

Dang it Paul....I was just thinking I needed to get a opener for the shop door, it is heavy. I know that you can adjust the springs, and in the past I have, but it was a little scary. No way I am doing that now. Dang, gotta get one..

    3 minute battery life…?

To perform a voltage drop test on the battery cable, you should connect one of the voltmeter’s leads to the starter motor battery terminal, while the other end is connected to the positive battery terminal. The engine, battery, cables, and connections must be in good working order for an...

    Dingleball Hones

I don't really like them, but as a former engine builder, go with the 400. It would be much better to take to a machine shop.....just saying. Yes it will cost more. I do have one in my tool box though, never used.

High oil pressure after replacing pump

In theory, (I love to live there,) you need 10 lbs pressure for each 1000 rpm. My Moroso pump comes with three springs, I have the 70 psi spring as I plan on wickin up the 489 hopefully to 7000 rpm, but it might only make it 6500, as the AFR heads are the 265's, but now fully ported. I'de be...

    New from northern Maine

There was a little pub up the hill, so I asked a number of folks where to get a good traditional lobster, that place was the consensus. Been riding three weeks by then, and was a little lean and unkept, but the swank dressers were really nice, it was just the coolest.

    BBC 489 build

This truck also has the big brakes as it was a camper special 8200 GVW rating, so will clean, paint, turn and all new brake parts. Really glad to have these big brakes. It sure is nice to have a doner vehicle. Speaking of doner, I am getting one complete ford 9" 59.5 inches wide, complete, and...

    BBC 489 build

Nice enough today to work on the doner truck, so got the body off. It is remarkably straight, with two good doors. Plan is to completely strip it down, taking lots of pictures. I plan on removing most of the exterior and interior paint, then fix any rust, imperfections. Somebody put three screw...

Granger Smith aka Earl Dibbles Jr. father's 74 GMC full restoration videos.

Watched all 23 episodes, but fast forward quite a bit. Interesting, he quit music, got busy in his local church, and is going to school studying theology. He lost a child I learned, hate to think about it, but he's headed in the right direction for sure.

Manley push rods, very nice, weigh 73, and 83 grams each. I did not have any interference with rockers to valve cover. All studs torqued 45 ft lbs, guides adjusted, and tightened. Lash is .035 down from 0 backlash, so I went to 7:00 o'clock. Soaked the Johnson lifters B-4 installing. Shot brake...
