Been manually lifting the 12 x 12 shop door and pulling a rope to close it for 10 years or so. Kinda a PITA coming and going but I was too cheap to pay for a door opener just for convenience as physically I had no problem raising and lowering it. Then last weekend we pulled up in the Blazer and the wife hopped out and said she’d raise the door. Took her two attempts so at that point I said enough.

I like it!

Let's see the hardware.
Two remotes, a wall unit inside the shop and an exterior unit that takes a pass code.

@idahovette the link below is for the manufacturer. They are made in Germany. They can be purchased from their website and will ship from Charlotte NC. Come with a lifetime warranty.

Dang it Paul....I was just thinking I needed to get a opener for the shop door, it is heavy. I know that you can adjust the springs, and in the past I have, but it was a little scary. No way I am doing that now. Dang, gotta get one..

I mentioned the thread here regarding messing with garage door springs to the guy installing my opener. Great guy BTW, veteran, family business. Anyway he told me of a newbie who went after a spring with a short ratchet wrench versus a long bar. Thing wrapped his arm around the shaft a couple times and wrapped his shirt around his neck, choking him. He lived and kept his arm.

Sometimes it’s best to just write a check. o_O

My garage doors have openers but my shop door is a huge barn door and a real joy to open and close.
