With the caps torqued, rechecked the lash one final time before. Still where I wanted it so we could continue with the reassembly. What new tools have you got lately?
I had ordered an airline kit to plumb the shop with. 200 foot, 5 drop kit. Was the only one with dual outlets and gauges on the drops. Was $235 on Amazon. 3/4" pipe. Came with 10 rolls of Teflon tape. The machining is not bad. Hopefully this system will work out well. And not a new tool...- legopnuematic

How to measure a lift?
If you can find some kind of identification on them would be, as mentioned the easiest and best result. You may be able to measure the free arch of them and number of leafs, etc, and troll through the common offerings, tough country, rough county, skyjacker, etc and might be able to match it...- legopnuematic

Rebuilding Front Suspension
If your stock control arms are not completely hooped, I’d just rebuild the OE ones. A nice trick is to weld strap iron around the bushings on the lowers to “box them in” Do that before you remove the original lower bushings, then you can remove them and install, the new ones without having to...- legopnuematic

What have you done to your square lately??
I’m not sure why, but everyone seems to fret dropping the tanks on these trucks, 8 bolts, 1-3 hoses, a few wires. Siphon/empty the tank is easier of course than trying to do it full. Never had any issues even being in the rust belt.- legopnuematic

With the bearings pressed on, I cleaned and lubed one new race, set the carrier on the race, then tone ring into the oven to drop it on the carrier. That way I could tap it with a brass drift while spinning it to be sure it's up against the ring gear. Waiting on a new o ring for the rear mag...- legopnuematic

Assembled the service cart I had picked up and put it into service. Cover installed with new hardware and lube locker gasket and filled with fresh gear oil. Cab Removal Questions
There are plenty of ways to pull a cab. I’ve done them by hand, cherry picker, gantry, bobcat. If the bed is off and the driveline is in place still, it takes less height to go over the rear of the frame than it does to go over the engine. I’ve bought four sets of 8 4’ fixtures from the Barrina brand, T5 equivalent. First set I ordered in Feb 2019. Have them in the basement Woodshop at home, in the garage at home, at the shop. I'll give another good word for Tamco. Even at a minimum, if you just want to get something laid down to seal it up and preserve it, their 5300 series high build primers are very nice. Got the rear torn apart. Axles pulled, carrier removed. Removed the ring gear, the tone ring is pressed onto the carrier, to remove it I used the same method to remove ring gears from flywheels. Spin the carrier and heat with torch, about a minute later it fell right off. Will be receiving new...- legopnuematic
