Several members have done it with various brands of bed liner.

    '09 SuperDuty fuel consumption

The 6.4L doesn't have the HUI injectors that use oil to power the injectors. The 6.0L and earlier Power Stokes do. 6.4L has a high pressure common rail injection system. The EGR system can get blocked but I don't remember how much that affects fuel economy.

    AIR pump pics please!!

The purpose is to provide oxygen to finish burning any left over fuel. However it would add fresh air and dilute the exhaust.

    Your Take on Digital Tachs

I don't know about accuracy, but reading a digital readout that is changing is much harder than reading an analog gauge with a needle. If a needle tach is moving up or down the RPM range it is easy to see the RPM. With a digital readout it can be just a bunch of flashing numbers.

This is the best I could find.

    '09 SuperDuty fuel consumption

'08 was the first year for DPF - Diesel Particulate Filter which is basically a soot trap in the exhaust. That DPF eventually gets full of soot and the soot needs to be burned out. If the vehicle is driven under heavy loads the exhaust gets hot enough to burn the soot in what's called "passive...

    AIR pump pics please!!

Mine were removed also (dual AIR pumps on the big block). I think I had some before pics but my 454 has unique manifolds. I'm not sure if it would help.

    Spark plug wires...

A pre-made set is probably a compromise in one position or another depending on a lot of things like exhaust manifolds, etc. They may also be made to fit several different applications but none perfectly. The best thing to do is route them as short as possible while making sure they don't...

1lows lil bro bought his own truck

The welded gears are sometimes called a "Lincoln Locker" as in Lincoln welder. Very cheap way to get a locked diff, also very hard on the diff. Probably marginally ok for a pure drag racer but will be havoc on the street.

what did this axle come out of?

I don't know shit about the axles, I just had to comment that someone is going to be pissed when they find their purple phone swimming in 90W.

How to Tell which Axles I have?

Here's a thread on rear axle i.d. http://www.gmsquarebody.com/forum/showthread.php?t=748 Based on your build thread I think it's a 14 Bolt Full Floater.

    Paint in pieces

It's been about 20 years since I've painted a car and it was single stage paint. I painted several cars but only one with metallic, a '72 Suburban. I had a couple of places where the metallic didn't lay right. For a rookie I'd recommend painting metallic with the truck assembled.

    Turbo 400 markings

My trans has the same number 42 and the HD. My guess is that the TH400 had the HD cast on the case to differentiate it from the TH350. I haven't been to a GM assembly plant, but the plants I have been to try to make it real easy for the operator to pick the correct part for the correct...

I got one at Advance or Autozone this summer when I installed my new radio. They had a short one about 6" and then one about a foot or maybe 18" or so long.

    Wiper Switch Wiring Help

If it has intermittent wipers there will be a small black box with silver fins that it plugs into. The other end of the box plugs into the vehicle side connector. If Standard wipers then the two connectors plug into each other without the box in between.

What have you done to your square lately??

Drove mine some and then put fuel stabilizer in it because it is the time of year when it sits most of the time.

    Adding relays to headlights.

I have the 4 square headlight system on my '86. For the cost ($30) and time (about 45 minutes) the relay system was definitely worth it. Before i kept wondering if I turned the headlights on. Now they are bright and really white instead of yellow. I don't know if I drive it enough at night...

    Adding relays to headlights.

I bought my relay kit from LMC. I'm happy with it, it is pretty good quality although made in Korea or something. The kit fit good and my headlights are definitely brighter. I still have stock Halogen lights.

    Plastic Wheel Well Liners

That was my concern also, unless you can get behind the plastic part to wash it real well it may be worse than it being open.

What have you done to your square lately??

Hadn't driven mine in almost a month. Made it earn it's keep and towed the boat to winter storage. Also found my rear speakers were shot after I installed the new radio. Remembered that I had some other old speaks in the garage, hooked them up and it now I can hear it a bit better.

    Distributor Cap Difference

That top picture is a points style cap. That little metal part slides up so you can adjust the points. Also the middle terminal is for an external coil.

88 K5 Chevy 350 brought to TDC but back fires out Throttle Body?

Correct, there are 2 TDC, one is TDC compression/firing the other is TDC exhaust. You have to know where the cam/valves are to know which is which.

    Fire Extinguisher

I don't have one but this is a good reminder that I should buy one. I'm guessing I'll mount it behind the seat.
