Leaf springs
I will be installing a big block and need the extra capacity and the extra 1/2" or so of spring height would be good. I'll probably go with the ORD 2" Tuff Country HD springs when I get around to it.- TubeTruck

Anyone running wipers bigger than 16" oem?
I'm running 16" because I bought them before I saw someone post that they were running 18". Pretty sure 18" will fit and I plan on getting a pair next time around. -

Non Squarebody Side Projects
That was about the time automakers started using MIG (early-mid 60's). Otherwise it was SMAW or GMAW. Just like general labor today I'm sure they got people off the street, handed them a torch and said "here, weld these, if it holds you got the job. It doesn't matter what it looks like". -
Whats you gas mileage on your squarebody truck?
Mine was about 8 with the poor running 400. Swapped to a good running 350 and getting around 12, if not a hair over. Planning to add OD this year and swapping the OE intake for a Performer and 650 Holley spreadbore as soon as I get my rebuild parts. Hoping to get 13+ after some fine tuning.- TubeTruck

Lol, thanks. The 5/8 bolt actually goes through the frame in the factory hole also. I don't like how it just kinda hangs out there though. Once I get the others mounted I'm going to redo this one out of a couple pieces and contour it to the frame. -

Stock rear shock mount was toast. Made a new one to accommodate spring assisted shocks. Got the passenger side done. I'll do the driver side tomorrow or Wednesday. -

I'd say to clean and repack the front bearings also. Probably cooked the grease. -

Help With Block Casting Numbers
Look behind the driver's side head. There is a small ledge that has the casting number. You might need some degreaser and a long handled brush to clean it off.- TubeTruck

The GM NP208s have either a female 27 tooth input spline (originally coupled to a 700R transmission), or a female 32 spline input (originally coupled to a SM465 or TH400 transmissions). TH350's are 27 spline and were only mated to 208 in '80-'82, but very infrequently, so you probably won't...- TubeTruck

Barn Door Locking Mechanism
Yeah, I just realized the finger button pushes the plate which turns the latch mechanism and pulls the rods. Just need to get the lock situated. Is this what yours look like @RawkerStatus ? -

Took these pics just now. Left door has no holes, doesn't need them. Right door has 1 hole for the mechanism but I also don't know what the button hits to open the door. I can't find any pics online of what it's actually supposed to look like and good luck finding someone local (around here)...
