Anybody have pictures of the locking mechanismfor the barn door? Apparently someone took it apart and never fixed it. On that note, anyone know where to get the door panel and mechanism?

Damn, I came in here thinking I was maybe going to see a better way to lock my barn/garage. Lol

Are you asking about the actual key lock and related parts?

So I think I need the connecting rods and attachments from the cylinder to the mechanism.

Lol, I've asked that before also. I have the upper and lower latch and rods but everything off the lock mechanism is gone. Not sure how to connect it or what is supposed to be there. Looks like there is supposed to be a 90 degree piece to move the plate up and down but not sure what it looks like exactly or how it's attached.

Iirc, there's supposed to be an arm on the back of the cylinder that engages that slide bracket. When you turn the lock, the slide bracket moves down and the outside handle is rendered useless.

Excuse the poor quality photo, I couldn’t just copy and paste one page of the manual.

I would guess it's a pot metal piece that breaks at the slightest hint of resistance.

I'm sure it was. I can make a piece but I don't know how it attaches to the lock mechanism. It doesn't have any threads for a nut or grooves for a C-clip or holes for a cotter pin lol I'm assuming it was one of those spring nuts that just push on and dig in but no one sells stuff to fix these. LMC sells the latches and rods for the 80's cargo doors but no the 70's.

The pic you posted shows a washer and nut but I think that's to fasten the lock mechanism to the door. Mine uses a clip like the brake hoses.

@bucket You have a 70's Burb, correct? Cargo doors? If so, can you pop the panel off and take a pic of the inside locking mechanism?

You have an '86, mine is a '78. It's a little different as I believe you might have an actuator. You also have different panels on the interior. The linkage might be the same. I can take a pic of my door during lunch.

Also, not sure what OS you use, if it's Windows you can hold the windows button and hit "print screen" to take a screenshot, then crop it to what you need.

Took these pics just now. Left door has no holes, doesn't need them. Right door has 1 hole for the mechanism but I also don't know what the button hits to open the door. I can't find any pics online of what it's actually supposed to look like and good luck finding someone local (around here) with a 70's Suburban with barn doors, lol.
