    '77 K20, California smog issue

Do what Craig suggested, the 800 number he listed for the B.A.R is still valid. Without knowing what was oem for emissions you're going in blind and won't know where to begin until you talk to a referee.

    Help determine lift for towing

That's the route I went, 4" EZ Ride springs up front and Ride Rite Bags on stock springs in the back with blocks. I know some folks around here don't like blocks but the Ride Rites won't work with a shackle flip unless you get very creative and fab up something unique for the install. I also...

Mystery wires dangling on Mystery Vac Hose

Is there any difference between BBC and SBC? My post on page 1 has every connection for SBC. Honestly don't know how I could have made it any more clear.

Mystery wires dangling on Mystery Vac Hose

I'm not seeing it. I have the grey connector with one green on the left side and two green on the right, but the op already has that. His photoshop is highlighting a different green wire just above the grey connector.

Mystery wires dangling on Mystery Vac Hose

+1. Just checked mine and it's not connected to anything. For #5 it's a bit complicated but this should help. So hose 3 terminates at the manifold between the egr and dizzy. Hose 4 goes to the vacuum reservoir. Hose 5 reduces in size just after the junction and goes through the...

What have you done to your square lately??

That was a suggested option but I don't have a problem running a converter, even if it's one that's not as efficient as it could be. I'm all for helping the environment, just not to the point where I'm willing to buy a new $300 cat every few years. Besides that, with my luck the minute I install...

What have you done to your square lately??

Took it in for the biennial (2 year) smog check. It had trouble last time so I did some prep work with new dizzy cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fuel and air filters, set timing, and a new catalytic converter. It passed easily, but I think that's mostly due to the new cat. The old one, which was also...

1990 Suburban Square Body Fuel Pump Replacement

A friend of mine replaced the pump on his ‘90 burb through an access hole, so yes, it can be done.

Installed a Walbro pump and Aeromotive regulator in January 2011. Both are still working fine.

    front Shock sizing help

I'd be concerned with compression travel. If you can't measure before purchase you should pass on the deal.

    front Shock sizing help

What's the distance between the mounts at rest? If it's close to the 20.8 extended length and you primarily drive on paved roads you could probably get away with using the longer ones. If the mounts are more like 17" apart at rest or you do much off-road driving I wouldn't bother with the ones...

How to pick the right jack+stands

Hah, that pic is from an old thread just after I bought the HF 6-tons. They're all a bit scuffed up now except for the original set which I don't use. They were a gift from my departed Dad so I keep 'em nice.

How to pick the right jack+stands

Remember that you're not lifting the entire weight of your truck. It's usually just one end or the other that's raised. If it had a perfect 50/50 front to rear weight balance and you jack up one end, you're only lifting half it's weight. Of course, in the real world the bias is towards the front...

Ultra rare collectible square body trucks?

I have crank windows and power locks. It’s funny how often passengers sit there hitting the locks up and down trying to adjust the window. I always say my burb has the rare “Armstrong windows option.” There were some young German tourists I was chauffeuring around that had never seen window...

Cut steel on a regular basis? Or at all?

MK Morse Metal Devil is the brand, they have a good rep for being well built. Got the idea for the stand from this thread and added a few tweaks of my own. https://weldingweb.com/showthread.php?12430-Chop-Saw-Mobile-Workstation&highlight=stand

Cut steel on a regular basis? Or at all?

I needed to replace the blade on my Metal Devil saw and after a lot of research I bought a Tenryu Heavy Metal Blade. Not cheap, but the cuts are so quick and clean I'm sold on the brand. If you're looking for a high quality blade check out Tenryu...

    How to... lift Suburban 4x4

Are we talking Denmark, Sweden or Denmark, South Carolina? It's expensive to have suspension parts shipped just within the U.S., I hate to think what it would cost to have leaf springs shipped half-way around the world. What's your budget? It's easy for us to list names of suppliers but if you...

Mixing bowl air cleaner transition piece for TBI

Looks familiar. I cut the bottom out of the bowl smaller than needed then opened it up with a disc sander a little bit at a time until the choke ring was a tight press fit. Only difference is I'm a cheap bastard and didn't buy the wife any bowls. One at the 99 cent store and done.

Might be out there already, 454 swap into 89 sub

If the burb is a V series there might be an issue with motor mount brackets. I've never seen a '89-91 4x4 burb with a factory big block but there's a part number for the engine mounts on vehicles equipped as such. https://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/88-91-suburban-4x4-motor-mount-brackets.15654/

    Power Steering Pump Pulley

You're certainly not going to affect the pump shaft and the pulley seems to tolerate repeated removal. I went through a series of defective reman pumps and have taken the pulley off at least five times and it goes back together just fine. This is assuming you're using the proper puller and not...

    Damn nice burb

ANY shade of brown would be fine, but that's the same light gray I have in mine. That just looks...wrong.
