    Questions on TBI

I'm not familiar enough with the GMT400 tbi systems to answer all of your questions but I can help with the last one. I'm running an Aeromotive afpr and it's installed on the return line. The tbi systems build pressure by restriction, meaning that I didn't have to disable or modify the stock...

Is it better then a 1980 Square Body

Grew up in Ventura but I’ve lived in Ojai for the last 30 years. Some of the pics in my album were taken at Casitas, back when there was water lol.

Is it better then a 1980 Square Body

Close. This one is Lake Casitas. Cachuma is the next closest one going north.

Is it better then a 1980 Square Body

Here's a useless factoid: That Ford is sitting on the bottom of our local lake. The paved road is an old highway which disappeared under water in 1962 after the dam was built but resurfaced a few years ago due to increased demand from development and ten years of below-average rainfall. The...

Is it better then a 1980 Square Body

I've seen that Ford around town and it always catches my eye. Looks real nice going down the road.

    6X9 Speakers

Did the dash pad lay as flat as it was originally when reinstalled?

    Kill switch ideas?

Yeah, I bought a new car in '95 and the Prolock was already installed but they wanted me to pay around $65 to leave it "enabled". Smelled like a scam so I told them they could keep it, whatever the heck it was. When I got home I figured out all they did was remove the flat key thing so a...

    1965 MG Midget

That's a tough one. There's no great value in it to an MG purist/enthusiast being so heavily modified. It holds the same value as a Triumph, small Healey, or Sunbeam Alpine would in similar condition. But somebody looking at getting into autocross racing would have a good head start with this. I...

    Smog Regulations

I guess it's possible yours didn't have a charcoal canister originally. It's also possible that many were removed before the current owners ever saw the vehicle. I'm writing from memory and it's been forty years since I worked as a Cali smog tech, but I don't recall testing any that didn't have...

    Smog Regulations

It will need the equipment it came with from the factory. There are two standards, "49 State compliant" or "49 State Plus California". Your under-hood emissions sticker (probably long gone) determines which it is. There's no way to look it up online, way too many variables, so your only option...

    Power Brake Booster Adjusting Rod

I was just looking that up while you posted. It's generally called a hairpin clip.

    Dual Neck air intake

There’s some in this thread. https://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/cold-air-intakes.7096/#post-172865

    Dual Neck air intake

Same procedure for me, but I didn’t have any sort of adapter for attachment to the radiator core support. I found abs pipe at the hardware store that was the correct size to fit inside the flexible intake hose so it was just a matter of gluing, sanding, and painting to make it look decent.

    TBI Headers?

Your engine is just refusing to cooperate until you get rid of the crappy Fram oil filter.

I painted mine six years ago with Dupli-Color bed coating and it still looks good.

Harbor Freight Recalls REPLACEMENT Jack Stands

My old 6-ton stands are on the list of being able to be voluntarily returned but I'm not sure if I want to return them or just do some upgrading. Gotta think on that some. I sent an email to HF asking about the 3-ton stands I've had forever. They were purchased at HF under the Allied brand name...

    What is this? (LSPV Valve)

I found that the valve is very sensitive to adjustments. Just a few degrees of rotation changed the braking bias tremendously, which makes perfect sense when you consider the small range of motion that suspension droop would have to act upon the linkage. Rotating the center stem of the valve...

    This genuinely offends me

Remember that show that Jesse James had for a while, the one where he created weird purpose built cars? There was an episode in which he cut up (destroyed) an SS El Camino. While he was working on it he said something that stuck with me, he said “I know this bothers a lot of purists that I’m...

Harbor Freight recalls 454,000 jack stands

If you've had them for a while they're not part of the recall. I have a set I bought in 2011 and the item # on those is P38847. The ones @HotRodPC has are the same, he bought his before I got mine. If you need a pic for comparison I can post one later.

1973 Blazer SBC 350 - Need thoughts on exhaust system

Choose your mufflers carefully. People here will tell you their MegaTurboHowler3000 muffler on their truck sounds awesome, and then you'll find that it's way too loud for a K5 where you're practically sitting on top of it. A mellow throaty exhaust sounds fine, but an obnoxiously loud one is just...
