Your missing the choke houseing. It's the metal part that attaches to the carb on the front corner. the manual is the black plastic part that attaches to the cable. What is this for?
Engineered into the middle of the underside of the hood structure is an indentation where the hood will bend. -

IIRC they are to keep the hood from going through the windshield in case of a front end collision. Hood should catch them and bend in the middle. -

Nasty parasitic draw from plow
Rick's right, it shouldn't have any constant draw. The solenoid probably has a short in it and needs to be replaced. My plow draws no power unless it's operating. My guess is the wire from the battery to the solenoid is a heavy gauge. There should also be smaller wire going from the solenoid to...- DrvnDrvr

I swap my bumper and plow mount twice a year and this makes so much easier. Use this set more than I thought. Ratchet is 3/4". Like the pivoting case it came with. -

I have a hook over the tire step and it works great. Only thing is I'm sure one day I'll forget it's there, take off and crush it and possibly puncture the tire sidewall. -

Shorter steering column?
On my EBay unit there is no provision for the underdash clamp. I cut the clamp part off the existing column and used that. The ring for the shift lever is right up against the dash bezel.
