    if you indeed narrow it down to your transfer case, I would start by inspecting the fluid, also pull the tail housing and check out the output bearing and bushing

    Ive been planning on routing all my vents to the firewall, I guess this would be the best time to do so huh. Well it would at least eliminate one issue don't let the picture fool you its a small drain pan what the heck is a proctologist?

    Ive been having problems with my rear end lately so I pulled the cover and this was the color of the fluid. Also the drain magnet was 1/8 think with gunk/metal particles. This fluid has like 3000 miles on it. Something is clearing wrong here image post

    pinion support question

    I have a 1986 k10 Chevy with a 14bolt rear. The guts are out of a m1028(4.56 Detroit) but the housing is from a 1989 suburban. I've read somewhere that the pinion supports are different from the old housing vs the new ribbed style housing. Could this be my rear end problem I've been chasing?

    if its a real m1028 it should have a H in the vin and it should have overload springs
