Ls swap over $6000?
I just wish I had an enclosed garage and some tools, I can get better prices on a lot of this stuff through my part time job, and would save a ton on labor doing it myself, might see about getting most everything in the truck and routed and ask them what it'd be if I had them do the plumbing etc- Jarhead79

for all the work and new parts I guess it's not that pricey, I'm sure there is other little stuff I'm sure that'll pop up, I can get a motor and computer and stock harness for $600, hard to believe a harness new is $750/$800 dollars though.- Jarhead79

Does this not seem a bit too high? Not including price of the motor and computer. Most of their prices seem high but are name branded stuff so I can see it being near this much for all brand new stuff! I certainly think most of this can be bought cheaper or even slightly used.- Jarhead79

Broke Caliper Bolts !!
Probably going to have to try an easy out, I'd say one solution would be to pull the spindle and rotor off and then try to remove the bolts. Only other idea, and not sure it's feasible but if you take a nut and place over what's left of the bolt, then weld the middle of the nut and the try... -

Vortec 350 questions
Well I got some good news from a customer at my part time job at Oreillys that builds cars, he has a spare 5.3 truck with computer and wiring harness for $600, not sure if the trans is available with it but will be finding out, we are supposed to get together and discuss it, might even be able...- Jarhead79

Another thought is when one or more people show interest, or sellers start getting multiple calls, greed takes over and voila you have bidding wars, this and what happened to my dad once really chaps my butt, he called about a truck he had already looked at, told the guy he wanted it and was on...- Jarhead79

Exhaust Routing
Get an aftermarket trans crossmemberif you want duals, after having someone who I thought would be able to do a good job on my exhaust and didn't, I'm contemplating a new crossmember so I don't have to run one pipe over it and one below it like it is now! Cool info guys thanks, this will probably be a long term build unless something happens and I gain a few grand extra in the not to distant future. I'm not hp hungry but 350/400 is my goal for now, I'd love to do an Ls swap but I just don't think it is in the cards right now. I'll keep looking...- Jarhead79

Ty for the info, I'm just torn on building a motor or rebuilding my current, I'd rather build one and swap than pull mine then build it, I like driving my truck too much but have another to drive. Just have to get to a starting point and dive in! Lol- Jarhead79

I've been looking around for a 350 to rebuild and came across one a co-worker has for $250 bucks, now I'm no expert on engines at all but I do know I can use the heads on my current 350 as an upgrade, but I'm curious as to whether or not I can just rebuild the vortec and upgrade it little by...- Jarhead79

Well i screwed up the Vacuum Lines. Help? please.
Brake booster to rear of carb, trans to back of carb pass side, or if you are like me and have a vacuum post in rear of intake use that, timing advance to front of carb drivers side lower carb by fuel screws, pcv valve to front of carb. I dont have any smog crap so the rest of my carb vacuums...- Jarhead79
