    1988 IROC-Z

$10 part plus an hour or two you will spend installing the line and bleeding the brakes anyway seem like a good way to save $240 + $70 for the stainless line. Then you wouldnt need to work the over time and could spend that time enjoying the car instead of going crazy - er in an econobox.

Why not just bend a new steel line from the parts store?

    Greetings from San Diego!

Boosters reduce effort you apply to the brakes, to increase pressure you need different master cylinder.. Before you go there are you sure you got all the air out of the lines?

    Anyone running...

your rear tires a 1/2 in shorter than the front, thats 1/4" top and bottom...can you really see it? Last I checked it only took relocating your rear bumpstop and maybe an adjustable panhard bar, possible fender lip rolling to fit 315/35/17 which would be the same size as your front tires.

    Anyone running...

This debate comes up on every forum, rarely does some put enough miles on their classic to wear the tires out, either the tires get little to no miles on them and go past the DOT age or the rears are burned off every season. Get the same size you either wear evenly or burn the rears off a season...

    Whatcha ridin?

last I checked 06 was the final year for the f4i.. when looking at one pay close attention to it, they were a big hit with stunters for a while and may have been used as one.

    Whatcha ridin?

It depends on what you want there are alot of great options out there. I used to have a CBR600F4i. Since you like harleys and rockets you might want to check out Victory motorcycles, they are no longer being made but you can buy nice used ones that are balanced like a rocket, have efi and look...

Finally got my bench seat done

Using lowering spindles and an axle flip kit will get a lower stance and retain the same ride as you arent replacing the springs. Problem is spindles are only 3 in drop and axle flip is like 7, after that you can buy lowering springs which increase spring rate knowing what spring rate the new...

    Caliper upgrade?

Most people scrap them when they start having problems, I would leave the JB6 on the rear and put the JB7 on the front.

    Caliper upgrade?

Yes, as you brake the weight of the vehicle transfers to the front tires, having equal braking pressure on the rear without weight on it will cause the rears to lock up and possibly spin you out. This is also why 3/4 and 1 tons had the brake valve (cant remember the actual name) that allowed...

    Brakes

sounds like the flexible line to the rear brakes collapsed and is restricting fluid from returning to the master cylinder. Lift the truck loosen the lines from each wheel to the flexible line on the rear axle then close it. Should be enough pressure release to turn the rear wheels. Replacement...

New speakers and OG head unit?

when you replace the speakers in the doors get these also. They will help protect the speaker from the weather and act as an enclosure to help with sound, otherwise the sound quality and probably volume will suffer.

89 454 TBI fuel pump question,

you have to remove the dist. from the engine. tap out the pin holding the gear on the bottom, remove the gear, pull the shaft out from the top. ID recommend just buy a new dist. the stock dist. were known for wearing the bushings out for the shaft and allowing them enough movement to make...

I think I just got screwed. Advice?

HAving been on both sides of the coin for this I have worked in shops and at the parts stores, shops have commercial accounts and get discounts on prices. If you check my post about garage tips/hacks you will see I recommend setting one up for yourself. It costs nothing and you dont need a...

    90 Suburban Fuel Pump ?

chances are its the pump, you can buy a relay if you want but be prepared to buy a pump also. The stock pump was weak when new, if you have any performance plans for the truck upgrade the fuel pump now so you wont have to swap it out again later. The stock pump for a tpi camaro will supply mor...

    Pondering ideas

unless you use domed piston the 76cc head will make for low compression defeating your goals. Going withthe alum 113 heads will raise compression, flow better than the 882 heads and be lighter all things that contribute to the goal. The 113 heads also have like a 170cc intake runner making it...

    350 using oil

Honestly if it needs rebuilt that bad why put the moeny into sealing it when you could use the money to find one thats ready to drop in?

    350 using oil

but over how many hours/miles of heat cycles and vibration? The other option is the head cracked at each hole for the manifold and allowed oil to leak in without becoming loose and causing an exhaust leak or falling out. Which seems more likely?

Look at the block inthe pic it is covered with oil/dirt. My bet is the valve cover leaked onto the bolts and then weeped its way down the bolts.
