If anybody could help would be nice so my c10 came with a 305 700r4 engine gave out so I put a 350 from a 69 Corvette and a few mods. So I adjusted my shifter on the steering column truck ran ok but then it wouldn't move on drive. It shifts in all gears but jerks hard on 3rd and then it moves idk what's wrong reverse works fine

Ok, I need some clarification. Did you swap the 305 ENGINE for the Corvette 350, or the 700 trans for a 350? If you swapped engines, unless the shifter adjustment was moved while the engine was out and the trans was hanging, the engine swap shouldn’t matter. The shifting characteristics could have changed if the TV cable isn’t adjusted the same or adjusted correctly.

If you disconnect the shifter rod from the column to the trans, will both the column and the trans move they the entire range of movement smoothly and without binding? If not, that needs to be corrected before going further.

If you swapped the 700 for a 350 trans, the steering column shifter has different “gates” with specific detents for each gear.
The 700 column will probably work ok, you just need to be sure that it will line up close enough in park, reverse, and drive. Your probably not going to be able to get the detents to line up with every gear, and the neutral safety switch may not work in both park and neutral since the distance between each gear is a little different.

Make sure the carb will go to WOT by flooring the pedal. Make sure the floor mat, carpet, etc isn’t holding the throttle from opening all the way. Once that’s done, push the locking tab on the TV cable, slide the asjuster all the way back, then release the lock tab. Floor the gas pedal again, you should hear the TV cable adjust. You may need to move the cable adjustment in or out a few clicks to dial in shift points.

not the peddle. You need to set the TV cable when at WOT throttle. Easy stuff if you know how, if net, take it to a pro. You can easily destroy the 700R4

You can bend the throttle bracket on the carb, bend it at the gas pedal, whatever it takes. Don’t open the throttle from under the hood, you need to make sure the carb goes WOT with the pedal. Hope that helps
