My good running 1990 suburban quit without warning recently. While sitting, the idle came up and then engine died. Trying to restart it coughed a couple of times. Cannot hear the fuel pump in the tank so I am guessing there is no fuel to the throttle body. When I turn the key on there seems to be a click at the fuel pump relay on the firewall but the pump does not appear to run. I am thinking the pump has failed ? could the relay be the problem ? Fuel guage is working fine. If I need to replace the pump, is it best to replace the entire assembly ? Napa has a Bosch pump on the high end of the price scale. Any experience with these or any other for that matter. Thanks
