Equal - Tire Balancing Beads, No weights to Lose

Thanks for the update @RacingTurtles FYI, I've used the small ceramic beads that are designed to go in through the valve stem. They work well to balance the tires and, like you, I don't notice them in the tires at all. I will say that feeding several ounces of those beads through each valve...

Oil Primer tool. Make your own, the easy way from your own scrap.

I made one with a bad esc distributor. The pickup coil died in it. Way better than making a trip to autozone, and its essentially free.

    Exterior Door Handle Issue

Cute idea, and it sounds like a great way to spark their interest early. I don't have any kids of my own, but I have friends with kids. I'll definitely consider it.

    Exterior Door Handle Issue

Great suggestion. Yes, I will. The old doors are laying in the back garage waiting for complete disassembly. Probably something I'll do over the winter.

    Exterior Door Handle Issue

Yes, the spring in the door handle is still there. Thanks for the reply @MarineOne. I never figured out the issue, but I guess it's moot now that I've replaced both doors. The old ones were getting full of rust holes and the hinges were bad too. The "new" doors have rust too, but at least the...

    Loose motor mounts? Please help

Bad U joints or a bad transmission mount are more likely to cause clunking in my opinion. Do what @CalSgt suggested, and look for sloppy u joints while you're under the truck. Rumble or shaking after turning off the truck could be unrelated.

    Gun racks, tailgate straps.

I received the rack in the mail yesterday. Thank you @bigcountry78! I don't know when I'll get it cleaned, painted, and installed, but I got it now.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Leave the saddle tanks under the M37.

Questions about '74 All Time 4wd, HELP

"This squeak"? I dont think any of us have heard your specific squeak, but U-joints in the front axles can cause a squeak in 4wd.

    Exterior Door Handle Issue

Please take a look at the picture above. It's taken inside my K10's passenger door, looking back towards the latch mechanism. The red arrow at the top of the picture is pointing to the rod that connects the exterior door handle to the latch mechanism. Something is goofy with my exterior...

    Hood wont open, broken cable??

Thanks to the forum, that's now how I open the hood on my K10. Every time. Except mine only takes one good hit to the center of the hood to make it pop. Prior to learning then Fonzie trick, I would apply upward pressure on the safety latch bolted to the hood while applying downward pressure from...

    Loctite, which one and where?

+1 for anti-seize. The only thing I use loctite on is those E8 inverted torx steering column bolts.

    Truck died today when driving

I agree that it's not a fuel issue, but the truck wouldn't die while cruising at 2000 rpm from a loose battery cable. It would continue to run off the alternator. If the op really lost all power to the gauges, maybe it's a connection at the fuse block? Ignition swith connection is also a good...

    Gun racks, tailgate straps.

Payment is coming through the interwebs... What kind of hardware do you guys use to mount the racks? Self-tapping sheetmetal screws? If so, what size? Pictures are always appreciated.

    Truck died today when driving

My first thought was ignition control module as well. It's definitely worth having a spare, even if it's out of an old crusty distributor just for emergency use.

    350 Water Pump Woes

Wow! Maybe they use the same crusty back plate after "remanufacturing" the internals. Assuming it's not ancient, I'd take it back to NAPA. That's not how water pumps typically fail.

    Gun racks, tailgate straps.

Sounds good to me. PayPal? If you don't want to support them, I'm cool with that because I hate them too. I don't do any other electronic fund transfers at the moment. I can mail a check or cash and you can ship the rack when it clears. Shoot me a PM with your payment preference and address if...

Headlights flicker and radio cuts out when driving over a bump

I had the same issue in my Monte Carlo years ago. The car would still run solid, but the headlights and radio would cut out over big bumps (scary when driving at night). Replacing the ground strap between the passenger side head and the firewall fixed the issue. Have you replaced that ground...

How many gallons can you put in your gas tank?

My fuel gauge needles don't come off full until I've burned at least 20% of the tank. Old GM fuel gauges/sending units just aren't accurate. This is true for my trucks, Camaro, and Monte. You just have to know how each one behaves. Regarding 20 gallon square tanks, I've run one out of gas in...

I'm interested in a gun rack to put in my square. Please check shipping to 55437. Assuming they won't cost >$20 to ship, consider a set sold.
