You can download the instructions on Edelbrocks website that'll have the chart that tells you which combo of jets and metering rods you want. 1405 and 1406 are calibrated a little different.
I'm putting explorer rear discs on the 9" so I hillbilly engineered a drill fixture. Bought a cheapo bolt pattern template, a steel spacer and a set of HF transfer punches. The rotors register on the center hub so it doesnt have to be perfect.
Felpro steel core laminate gaskets and ARPs with the 5/16 head.
I go back and check em after a few heat cycles then once a week for a month or so and then let em go. Never had any issues.
Can just hope its correct. Its probably not the issue but mistakes happen.
I ordered a 9 inch housing and axle kit from Currie for my truck and they sent me a 67-72 housing in a 73-87 box.
Yukon sent me a duragrip without the roll pins to hold the cross shafts in.

The 153 tooth looks longer here but it may just be the picture.. Dont have one in front of me to say either way
Make sure your putting stuff on in the right order.
Carbon brush/button first, then the insulating washer, then the coil.
There's a ground strap that goes under the coil at one of the hold down screws too. Seen em missing before.
When it's drooped out the axle and shackle move forward. Once you get weight on it it'll be right. Make sure the bolts for the springs aren't tightened up until you get it on the ground or they can bind up
