Recommendations on a new Distributor and Carb.

Just finishing a rebuild on the 350 (Also the TH400)in my '86 C20. Looking for advice for replacement Dist/Carb. Engine is basically bone stock, except for a RV cam to provide a little more umph for towing, since it will be used mainly to pull hay+stock trailers. Added an Offenhauser aluminum...

Might be cheaper in the long run to just find a SB frame? I see them advertised all the time. ;)

    Radio ID

If it's still on the radio, they used to put a sticker on them with month/year of manufacture. A lot of the little tags fall off as the adhesive looses it stickiness as the radio is heated by use, and cools down. There is a guy that does Delco radio repair: <http://ronsradio.com> . He may have...

I don't know which is closer to heaven: being in a well stocked wrecking yard with killer prices, or surrounded by a bevy of buxom Hooters girls! :happy175:

    1981 k30 crew cab dually

Welcome to the forum from N. Texas! Great looking first truck. Watch those 454's. My old '86 cab crew C20 would pull anything I could hitch to it, and would pass anything except a gas station. :emotions33: Keep checking Craigslist for used tires. I used to buy a lot of 235/85 R16's for my...

What’s IT Worth? (Post all “what’s it worth threads here)

What is a dually rear fender (driver side) worth these days? I can't see any cracks or obvious damage. Some guy is coming over tomorrow to look at it, and I at least want to be ready with an educated figure. Thanks guys & gals.

    Flatbed questions

Try J&I Mfg. in Madill OK. They carry several brands, and seem to have the best prices around Texoma. Another company is CM Trailers. Besides trailers, they also mfg flatbeds. <https://cmtruckbeds.com/flat-bed-bodies/> There is also a company that makes aluminum flatbeds in Kansas, but I can't...

Engine using excessive oil "opinions wanted"

Years ago, I bought a '72 El Camino beater as a go to work vehicle. Couldn't get it to stop smoking, nor pass the emissions inspection in NV. Had new valve seals installed, and poof, everything cleared up. Way cheaper than a valve job!

    Spare tire mount?

You can always put a chain and lock on as an anti-theft device. That would also keep the tire/wheel assembly from going anywhere if the attaching hardware went South.

    Hood sale price?

Hang it up in your rafters in the garage . It won't take up any space. In 10-15 years when you get tired of the cowl hood, you'll have the original. If you sell it, you'll get peanuts now, and a good undamaged hood then will be impossible to find. OBTW-37 is quite young, at least in my old eyes!
