dangerous?? hardly. when you aim them properly it's no big deal. and the fact there twice as bright just shows how crappy the stock sealed beams were. there also DOT approved anyway

    EFI Conversion

depends on where you live. being out in the flatlands, a well tuned carb would do fine. i put efi in my truck cause i live in the mountains, doesn't matter if i'm at sea level or 8000ft up, runs the same all day whatever the altitude. plus being a 4x4, i have no off camber starvation issues...

    Duel Tank Question

the pump will run whenever the key is on and getting a signal from the ecu. if the pump relay was bad you would't be able to start your truck, and in the event of a stall or even a crash, then it would be getting a no run signal from the ecu...last thing ya want is 45 psi fuel spraying...

1987 Chevy R20 454 power steering reservoir hose

actually it's .72 id and it comes a little long so you can trim it. this hose will fit from your ps pump to the ps reservoir mounted up high at the front of the block

    Duel Tank Question

ya, it doesn't look like my throttle body either...it does look almost like a 2 barrel. every pro flo i've seen is a 4 throater, but every thing else looks edelbrock all the way. maybe someone changed or used a diff throttle body, meaning it would have to be a pf2 or pf3 as there is no...

    Front driveshaft clunk

as mentioned, i would check the cv ball first. when you say you removed metal in the cv, did you mean the angle stops? i had to grind mine out, first time out it sounded horrible and kept binding and grabbing. their the little bumps inside the cv limiting how far they can go (angle-wise)

    Spring Lift Ride Question

this unless you spend mucho bucks for custom rear springs, lifted leaves will ride worse than your stock leafs. one thing to think about also, will you be hauling loads with the truck? i orig had 8" lift springs all the way around on my truck, but after carrying my camper and quads for TWO yrs...

    Duel Tank Question

it is possible your truck was factory fi being an '87 and having in tank pumps, but i seriously doubt there is in tank pumps now. if you had in tank pumps, installing the pro flo external pump would be unnecessary. your pump is a Walbro and their extremely reliable, and have more than enough...

    Duel Tank Question

the older pro-flo's (1,2,3) use external pumps. i'm assuming he wasn't running a pf4 as he says the resto is a few yrs old. if it is a 1, 2, or 3, it is wired correctly. after thinking about what he has said, i would be checking the selector valve for obstructions, fuel out the weep hole, or...

welcome good to see another BC'er here. ya, bigger tires will slow down your rpms. i have 4:56's in my crew, with the T400 and stock tires, my 454 would be wound right up at around 35-3600 rpm at 55-60 on the freeway. with my 38's on it, it comes down to a little more reasonable 29-3000 rpm's...

    Duel Tank Question

edelbrock fuel injection systems are some of the best aftermarket ones going. there super reliable. being one of the best also means comes with a hefty price tag. to help keep costs down for the avg. gearhead, they use an external fuel pump, as you have noted. yes, your single pump will run...

    ignition switch feeling stiff

before ya rip apart your column, check your key. when they get a little worn, they can become cranky. i replaced the keys for my stepper and my crewy when they started getting hard to rotate and all my probs disappeared, and didn't have to touch the column. sometimes KISS can save you a lot of work.

    Electric Fuel Pump

don't know where your buying your walbro pumps from (amazon?) but every walbro i have ever bought has been made right here. as to quality issues, maybe some people aren't paying attention to flow...... and the walbro pump came standard on my pro-flo system, and after 18 yrs, you don't need to...

    Electric Fuel Pump

walbro fuel pumps. not chineseum i been running an external Walbro fuel pump for my fi big block for close to 18 yrs before it crapped out....and it wasn't the pumps fault, i got too far out in the bush and ended up running my tanks almost dry. of course i replaced it with another Walbro pump...

What gauge size/diameter to replace stock ??

if your talking about these gauges, then ya, Mike is right, 2 1/16". as you have to irrevocably modify your cluster, i would suggest doing all the small gauges at once. when i bought my square, only the speedo was working. i was going to change all the gauges, but i got my fuel gauge working so...

    Dana 60 Death Wobble

only had wobble on my 60 when i put my bias swamps on ( 42's) and it only happened at around 30 mph, go faster or slower and it would disappear, hold it at 30 and it could get pretty violent. new kingpin bushings, new bearings, spring bushings, cross over and stabilizers, nothing would get rid...

you need the 4x6 led headlights. my son wanted to upgrade the crappy sealed beams in his '91 firebird for some leds, but he didn't like the looks of most of the led headlamps. found some glass 4x6 leds that look totally factory. when i went halogen on my '85 crew i needed to modify the buckets...

    Champion radiator difficulties

i think champion classify's them more by size. there web site says the 3 core will fit big and small blocks. and they have diff sizes of 2, 3, and 4 core rads for squares. i would suggest measure your stock rad then order the one closest in size to it. their 3 core was 1/8's difference in size...
