Can your granny open your trucks door?

^^^^ I was thinking something similar A remote door pop solenoid tied into the latch release button rod would pop the door for you and keep it stock looking. If done right the button would still function by thumb too... Something like this Dakotadigital CMD-4001X...

Can your granny open your trucks door?

I had to replace the handles on my ‘07 Yukon several times. I do think you’re onto something with the thumb vs hand argument. Also with that is push vs pull. When you say that you greased it did you grease everything? I cleaned the latch mechanism in the hot tank and scrubbed all of the dried...

Best Spent $$ for Square Restoration

I wont argue the issue of storing new parts and hardware results in loosing things but... When I started my project in October of 21 I steadily watched prices increase and items end up out of stock for extended periods of time. By about February I had done enough research and shopping that I...

    LS Fuel Pump

Really, the ‘87 tanks with baffles are fairly affordable. I think mine were right at about $100 per tank when I did mine

    LS Fuel Pump

AFAIK they fit fine, disadvantage is not having a baffle to keep the pump fed when fuel sloshes in the tank

    LS Fuel Pressure

IIRC I was having a high pressure issue from wiring the tank switch valve wrong. It was causing the system to try to return to the wrong tank but would not flow at the volume as it did when wired correctly. I went through 4 used L31 manifolds (and regulators) half of them were no good driving...

    Broken shift tube?

Huh.... I wonder if this stuff would do it? https://www.summitracing.com/parts/lct-2264448?seid=srese1&ppckw=pmax-oils-fluids-sealer&gclid=Cj0KCQjw9deiBhC1ARIsAHLjR2BQPEw04B72WeTTroU6fHNcv1N9Lozj9T6wd5pBtY3zg43cqjfIlUwaAqBlEALw_wcB

Help me figure out what to do with this truck

^^^^ Yup I’ll add, let it sit as a parts truck until the ‘75 is done. All of the little parts needed really add up when bringing these things back to life. Even simple stuff like factory nuts and bolts are always needed and way nicer than anything you get at the tractor store or Oreileys

    Broken shift tube?

I think it would work…. I feel bad for you man, that’s a lot of dang work tearing it down that far. I would consider trying some plastic shims in between the two ends of the tube, maybe even some steel stock or sheet metal the correct thickness would do. Also maybe clean and scuff the surfaces...

I was gonna say PSC but I looked and they only offer 4wd and “F” body steering gear boxes.

92 Yukon interior parts needed (maroon color)

I busted that lever on Moms '92 Blazer (GMT400 style) back in like '99 or so, I had a hard time finding the right one back then even from the dealership. I ended up with the same one from your picture which functioned but didn't look right. Id jump on one of any color and just squirt it with...

Best way to stay within budget is to re-use everything that isn't busted or a wear/maintenance part. Also keep every part that is going to get replaced until the project is done. I've seen too many people go straight to the sawzall to remove the exhaust instead of unbolting it, throwing things...

    Dual Tank Switch Problem

I believe '87 should have in tank electric fuel pumps too, you could have a pump going bad.

    700r4 swap.

^^^^^ You will need to move the crossmember back a little and shorten the driveshaft some or find a take out shaft from an overdrive truck.

    Body work for 77 K20

I would get whatever the shop that is going to do the work recommends... The few patches I did on my truck were AMD, quality product and fit as good as could be expected.

WANTED: Automatic Pwr. Brake Pedal Assy.

FWIW: Removing the pedal mounting bracket is a bigger job than some assume. For starters it requires removal of the steering column (Wire harness, is clipped and connected to the column in several spots), brake booster, master cylinder, and it is sandwiched between the dash supports and...

    Fuse Box Stuff

Lower “L” had a capacitor, and a second plug piggybacked went to the electric choke relay. “S” had a pink w/black tracer also went to the electric choke relay. Also had an aftermarket wire plugged in there that may have gone to my stereo. I added a circuit breaker to “G” and soldered in two...

    Direct bolt in gauge cluster

I’ve had my Speedo pinned all the way around to the stop peg at zero… I always guessed it was between 125-135, the guy riding shotgun in the vehicle next to me would look at their Speedo then look at me in disbelief he repeatedly did that for a few moments shook his head and gave me a thumbs...

    Fabbing an alt support bracket

An 1/8” or so sheet metal bracket would be low profile, light, and easily fabbed Mr. @Doppleganger Bolts to lower threaded hole in alternator bracket and captures the alternator mounting bolt. Either flat stock with two carefully placed 90* bends, or welded on tabs instead of bends. Maybe...

    TCC issues on 4L60

Perhaps a transmission shop would give some free advice but if you’re planning on paying a shop to diagnose, you could swap in a new TC for about the same price. get a TC with woven fiber friction material instead of paper.
