Yes I have searched but cannot find my actual situation.

My 1983 GMC c1500 has the original 305 and 700r4,
but a prior owner installed an Edelbrock 600 on an adapter and it wants to shift earlier than I would like.

Searching the internet I see some cheaper ($15-50) corrector kits that only have an adapter for the carburetor arm,
or more expensive ($120-150)kits that have a new bracket that attaches to the manifold also.

Has anyone on here been in my situation and know what I need to adjust it right?

Attached pic of my current set up.

Don't skimp or cut corners on TV it's the fastest way to an early death on a 700r4. . Cost for a pressure gauge and a proper correction bracket IDK 100.00. Price of R&R + rebuild 700r4 what $2500.00

I made my bracket from a combination of an oem manifold bracket and a cheapie aftermarket bracket. I just cut them and welded them together in in order to get the proper geometry for the cable with the edelbrock carburetor.

This. What is the proper correction bracket?
If the arm is the wrong length or angle line pressure will be wrong. Very hard on a 700r4 it's not like a th350. The cable controls pressure, not downshifts.

the bracket, as long as your engine was originally 4 barrel, is fine, but if your truck was a 2 barrel(305...? no qjet in sight... smells like it was a 2 barrel to me )the bracket isnt in the correct spot.
