You're trucknis sweet looking but not for me. It's all in where you live and what you do. Most lowered trucks would be completly impractical where I live,no maintenance county roads,most are dirt or gravel,no snow plows when you get snow,most of these trucks wouldn't make out of my driveway and absolutely wouldn't make it out of the north pasture pulling a trailer,not due to traction,due to getting high centered. I wish I had pics of the beat to death gravel road everyone has to use when we get big rain. There are no police cars down here,they are full size dodge 4wd Rams.
I didn't know Kansas even had trees, let alone water!

The OPs truck was stock w/factory wheels.

I was critiquing the current uninspired trend of dragging frames on the ground with rims that almost touch it as well. If you're going to ruin them, you might as well do the hella flush camber thing too.

They're trucks, not cars. When they were new and an occasional one was lowered it was interesting. Now they're just as brilliant as Carolina Squats. If you want a car with a bed, get an Elco. At least you can still carry something in the bed of an Elco.

Beg to differ. Sure if you’re just cuttin coils and hillbilly lowering.
Any flavor of quality drop spindles with stock springs will basically ride the same. Period.
No recent experience with drop springs for these trucks, but again the right quality parts = quality ride.
There still things you are not considering about the 2 wheel drive suspension. Unless you change out the the upper spring mount location, (Beam structure) there is less spring full movement. Yes I did my '82 twice, first just cut coils and spaced out upper A arms.

Then changed upper and lower A arms with Chisholm suspension parts. The next limit is the inner fenders, need tubs up front to have the same travel distance. Use little tires up front, no not on mine. Drop spindles also means narrow wheels or more off set.

Finally your quote "No recent experience with drop springs for these trucks..." I'll state it again, the ride will not be the same, not bad, just different.

I think it would be a cleaner look without the bedrails, especially if you lower it.

First - Great looking Truck! Looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.

Second - my 1980 is stock height. I've never been a fan of lowering trucks. If it was a 4x4 I might want to raise it a little, but as a 2WD no need.

I totally get it. Different strokes and all that. That's why I have a stock height F250 super duty and a just slightly lowered F150. They all serve their purpose and are used in different capacities. I like lifted trucks too, but I have hard time pulling my old self up into them lol.

I am 67 and my shop truck is an old friend of 13 years that has also been retired after carting motorcycles and parts around for all those years.
I am in Australia so C10s are not that common but everywhere I go these days I get told "Nice truck" but you need to get it dropped ASAP!
I have been thinking for years a 3/4 drop would be ok but how to do it so it still steers and rides smooth like it does now.
Our roads are more like goat tracks than US roads?

Exactly. Since having this truck, I've found what a blessing a low truck is many times. The GF's brother wiped out on his motorcycle last year and we used my C10 over the GF's hugely tall '21 F150, muchhhhh easier to load and unload.
