I have a 1987 chevy R30 7.4/TH400 TBI

This line from the vapor canister is brittle and broken off. One end is still connected to the vapor canister as shown in the picture. But where does the other end connect??

My canisters are labeled next to each fitting, carb, PCV, or fuel tank

Thanks. The tubing was hard and brittle. I bought some new tubing on amazon for like $6. I’ll take the air filter off and find where it goes on the throttle body

Im finding all kinds of hacked up fixes. The plastics on this truck are brittle. This thing has a cap on one side and open to the atmosphere. What is this? And what does it connect to? Maybe there is a diagram of the emissions tubing for a 1987 R30 454/TH400 TBI?

The thing in your picture might be the egr solenoid? Cant tell from that picture. Does it have a 2 wire plug on it? And 2 different vaccum lines?

Awesome. Thank you so much for that. This is my first squarebody. The factory tubing was pulled off the throttle body and i wasnt sure where it connected. My next issue is the vapor canister has a 1/4” nipple but the factory tubing is a little smaller at about 5/32”. The factory tubing has an adapter on it to allow the small tubing to connect to a 1/4” nipple. That tubing in NLA. So i bought a barbed fitting with 1/4” on one side and 5/32” on the other

I’ll take a closer look when i get more time. There are definitely two vacuum nipples on the top. By the way, the truck is setting a code 32 and the cel is coming on. Im wondering if this is the cause. If it turns out to be the egr solenoid, i will need to track down where the vacuum line connect. Standby. I unfortunately work too much and have to weekend warrior repairs to my truck.

Yes code 32 is the egr i believe

One end goes on the throttle body, left of the larger pcv orifice, the other end goes onto the egr valve.. its a metal body, passengers side on the intake manifold, has a rubber diapraghm in it

I looked closer. It says egr on the top. There are two vacuum connections. One is capped and the other is open to the atmosphere. They are facing opposite directions. This egr is forward of the throttle body and mounted to the intake manifold. P.O. Jacked with the exhaust too. The cat is gone. And finally there is a blue or pink wire in the area not connected to anything. P.O. Did not take the care to at least wrap it in insulation tape. It can be just seen near the tube that leads to the pcv.

So, do i just leave the egr like this? connect it up somewhere? Do a better job removing it altogether? And what should i do with this blue or pink wire?
