Texas is doing away with the safety inspection next year. We don't have emissions for them anyways but I still think a basic safety inspection is still needed so you're not driving a huge pos with bad brakes, tires, lights and ect. Guess they don't feel the same. Hmm...:hmm:
Hey texas.... GET PA ON BOARD!!!!! My squares existence depends on it!

Yup, all a vehicle 25 years old or older needed to be inspected for, was the safety inspection. Emissions inspections are for 24 years old and newer vehicles, in certain counties. The urban and suburban counties, and Bexar County falls into that group in '26.
And yup, I see hoopties every day that shouldn't have been able to pass the safety inspection...so I don't see that getting any better next year. I'm figuring there will be more wrecks because of it too....

As long as everything works right they shouldn't care about how much rust you have on your vehicle. Unless it compromised the integrity of the vehicle. I got plenty of cosmetic rust on mine. But frame is still good. Picky bastards!

We have no inspections in Idaho and if we did, I don't know who or what would enforce the regs???? I have to say the Great State Of Boise in Ada County and also Canyon County do have some smog regulations? NOT applicable to me!!!!

I've heard from many sources that Pennsylvania vehicle inspections are notoriously picky. Especially about frame and body rust.....

Considering how many 3yr old trucks I've seen up there with HUGE holes in the bedsides, rightfully so

We don't have inspections or emissions in my county, so HA! Last I knew, only 13 of our 159 counties did emissions and none do inspections that I'm aware of
When we lived in Oregon, everything had to go through DEQ. Up here in Whatcom County, WA you could drive a car literally out of “One Piece At A Time” from Johnny Cash and no one would say sh!t.

Growing up in SC I remember my Mom and Dad having to get inspections every year. When I finally was old enough to drive I had to have my car inspected once and then the law changed. No inspections since the late 90's I believe. People literally will drive dune buggies. You could drive a bath tub if you made it mobile. Now that I am in VA, inspections every year. No emissions tests I'm aware if though.

In Missouri Saint Louis city , Saint Louis county, Saint Charles county, and Jefferson county require emissions testing, 1996 and newer for gas and 1997 and newer for diesel, GVWR 8500lb and under.

So everything I own is exempted due to age or weight.

Statewide for safety inspections. But the criteria is not difficult to meet.

Pretty much headlights, taillights, brake, and turn all work, horn, brakes work, wheels aren’t going to fall off.

As long as it’s better than what you can get for fourteen dollars and a record player one should be fine:
