My dash pad from LMC was a very nice part. It had a steel backing like original. The dash isn't wavy after it sits in the sun and it fit very well I thought. It is a 79 dash.
If you want to get your original dash redone, another alternative to Just Dashes is Al Knoch Interiors in El Paso...
I used a Cheyenne gauge bezel and dash bezel. The dash bezel dropped in the LMC dash pad's holes with no modifications. The gauge bezel fit the LMC dash very well also.
I have had good luck doing what CalSgt said. I would set it all up the way it came apart, run a pattern and adjust from there.
In the past, I have bought two identical pinion bearings and I would hone one out to make it a slip fit so it is easy to assemble/disassemble to check patterns...
I'm new to the forum. I'm from Oklahoma and own a '79 K20 Silverado. I'm the 3rd owner of the truck. It is all original and needs some restoration but runs and drives great. I still have the 16.5 inch wheels/caps but decided to run some 16 inch wheels right now and store the original wheels...
Has anyone used an LMC vinyl/foam original style dash pad with good results? I need a dash pad for my 79 K20. USA1 and Cheyenne are out of stock right now so I have been looking at the LMC dash pad.
