The tapered lugs and seats do a fine job of keeping the wheels in place without being hub-centric. Especially on a half ton truck. Imho, if you like the wheels you have now, just run them.

The dampness on the rear axel is extremely typical. It's just gear lube seeping through where the tubes are pressed into the center section.

It certainly isn't a bad thing to have a 205, but even for those uses, a 208 or 241 will be just fine. But if you want the 205 just to be safe, I ain't gonna argue. I'd be looking at doing the same thing, lol.
Iirc, the Walker book used to list the dual tailpipe setup. Maybe find a shop with a really old book and search for the old part numbers on eBay and such? Or find an exhaust shop that does custom bending and can mimmick the original setup?
