    Holley Retrobright radio interference solutions?

It's interesting that you mention the hood. Here's my related issue that you may have some insight on: Years ago, I replaced the sealed beams with LED headlights on my Chevy Celebrity. They killed the FM reception, even on good, strong local channels. It's a unibody car with a steel hood, but...

What have you done to your square lately??

Interesting. I've never seen any wheels turn green on them though. Ford definitely likes to change things though, just for the sake of changing things. Those goofy 7-lug wheels actually stuck around for a while. They were an option on the '04+ F150s as part of a heavy duty package. Did you ever...

What have you done to your square lately??

That could actually be part of the law, I guess. Behind passenger compartment AND out the side. Many medium duty trucks have an exhaust that terminates behind the cab, but still under the truck. And that's even if they were sold new with a van body. I wonder if it's just because medium duty...

What have you done to your square lately??

It's always been my understanding that the exhaust must exit after the passenger compartment and that's it. I remember in '96 when the new '97 F150 came out, they had an exhaust that exited before the rear tire. Iirc, that was changed in '98. Maybe due to a law change? I once knew a guy that...

    2 post shop lift

Back when I worked at the junkyard, I used the wrecker to remove engine/trans combos, many times out in the field by lifting the vehicle up like that.

For some reason, carburetors bring out the feistyness in people lol.

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

A friend gave me these a few days ago. An old gas can and a Monogram model kit from '60. I believe all the parts are there, just not the accessory belts.

Junk yard K5 jump seat identification

I've seen a lot of seats, but don't recognize that one. Looks to be aftermarket, based on the exposed staple strip. Pretty cool though. Were the front seats the stock ones?

    1983 K10 part time conversion

Correct. Full time hubs weren't used after the '79 model year. At any rate, you can replace full time drive slugs with manual locking hubs and you can also replace the auto hubs for manual.

    Carb gasket comparison question!

How is that the wrong gasket? Those two extra holes are in an area of the gasket that doesn't get used.

Anyone else have this "Turbo Diesel" plaque?

That fender emblem looks really familiar, but I can't place it. I think it's OE, just not from a GM truck.

    Changing gear ratios: opinions/suggestions wanted!!

For whatever it may be worth, I wasn't focusing just on your comment, but really the general opinion of many recently. But you did bring up a couple points that I'd like to talk about. So you can keep up with traffic, but you just don't want to try. Why not? Just because of the higher than...

Olds 350 diesel to sbc swap

Yeah, just dump the diesel and fill with gas. It will be fine. Or even suck the diesel out and fill with gas. I'm intrigued by that selector valve. That 6 port valve looks nothing like the 6 port valve on my gas trucks.

    Entering a show on Saturday.

Well said. Imho, car shows are for fun and not for competition. If there happens to be awards and someone picks their favorites, that's all fine and dandy too, but there's no need to get upset about it. If I ever enter a car in a show, it's because I'm lazy, lol. I like having somewhere to sit...

    Entering a show on Saturday.

Scratch that. After refreshing my memory with the pictures I took of the show this year, it's probably more like 75% 4x4's.

    Entering a show on Saturday.

That's kind of odd for around here anymore. Most notable, the yearly squarebody show in Richmond Indiana. There's probably more 4x4's than 2wd every year. The local shows I have been to in recent years, it seems to be a mixed bag.

    Changing gear ratios: opinions/suggestions wanted!!

I don't understand why everyone says they can't keep up with modern traffic. Why the heck not? Just get on the skinny pedal and let it eat. If it's keeping temp and not floating valves, don't worry about it and just drive it.

    Changing gear ratios: opinions/suggestions wanted!!

I'll just point out that yes newer trucks have overdrive and it is more desirable than non-overdrive and it would be silly to want an non-od trans in a new truck. But, that's a new truck and cost would be essentially the same either way. With the older truck, you already have the non-od trans...

You can tell by looking at the old gasket, those holes are in an area of the gasket that doesn't get used on your specific carb.
