cast aluminum is structural, i wouldnt modify the pan
I dont know what the block is like, im sure its strong but there could be the chance a modified pan doesnt support the bottom of the block right
a lot of 5-now many year old trucks could have used those when they got rusty bits!
THINK OF THE CHILDREN
jk, nothing was going to save the likes of one like mine
no reason you couldnt control the trailer brakes with a modern controller, the tap was used for a perfectly proportional trailer brake operation
@bucket described its benefits to me a long time ago in my own thread asking about the one in my truck (gpa had a different kind, but its still there...
i will agree on the slider pin in the rear, the one bracket bolt is also hard to access, couldnt use torque wrench on it had to just use a wrench and hope i was close
Its not an all the time thing, if you live in the midwest such as i, you can do it once a year and be overdoing it
but that is...
the bumpers provide stability, id consider modifying the bumpers before running without, thats asking for rattle i think
also lower the core support ones a lot, then see what it does with just those
Also make sure your cowl seal is good and fender is not distorted
Boy is there truth to that, one side a retaining pin of the parking brake must have rusted or sheared somehow ,because the shoes slammed into the caliper. it took a LOT to pound that off, even once the hub was clearly released, took so long of pounding to remove...
I gutted both sides since i...
the caliper slider issue is avoidable if you lube your brakes
shops are freaking allergic to it, for some god damn reason.
but you need a silicone or similar rubber-safe (NO PETROLEUM BASED ONES) lubricant for the sliders, I use permatex red (high end silicone based kind, is bright orange)...
its for the gmt400 trucks, but the point was that you MUST plumb in before the combination valve, and the volume used from the tap on the master cylinder can only use that much fluid
The master cylinders in the late square are the same as gmt400
The larger gmt400 without low drag disc brakes...
I have to get good with Pascals because the tech 2 readout will always be in Kilopascals instead of PSI, despite all other measurements read out in US customary (Fahreinheight for example)
I think some other values WILL read in inches of mercury, just ones not important for engine running (MAP...
i was going to chime in because that was most definitely not correct
but you could easily exceed with something else or something not working right oru sing too much tubing. heres a gmt400 warning as well, id assume the masters are the same in their early era but they now have rear ABS those...
IF YOU READ OUR REPLIES BEFORE YOU WOULD HAVE SKIPPED ALL OF YOUR FINDING OUT.
AND YOU CAN USE THE PRODUCT I MENTIONED TO NOT TOUCH THE WIRING AT ALL AND HAVE ALL THE FUNCTIONS YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT DECIDING WHICH ONE YOU WANT.
you are unlikely to be pulled over for it, but using the LED In...
that sounds about right, if you do a relay harness you will extend the life of that switch immensely by making the failure liklihood only mechanical use not current burning the switch contacts etc
