My son bought a running and driving Camaro project car a couple days ago. It's a 1988 RS, Maui Blue paint, black interior, t-tops, 305 V8, 5-speed trans and the little rear spoiler that was only used for part of the '88 model year.

Other than the bad paint, it also needs A LOT of cosmetic stuff and minor mechanical details.

@bucket Can't wait to see the progress on this sick whip Andy! Your son obviously has inherently great taste.

305 in 85 was a carburetor wasnt it?
That is a 1988 and is either throttle body or TPI. All Camaro engines were fuel injected in '88.

In '85 there were fuel injected Z28s but the lower level Camaro 305s were carbureted.

i remembered my cousins first firebird had a edelbrock and everything about it was poorly done.. lol... hoodpins that they drilled a hole in the wrong place so they put two holes in and shoved foam peanuts inside

All because it appears the hood release cable was broken so they removed the latch/catch
had wood screws into the battery post to hold the terminals on.... dont miss that thing LOL

had 4 windshield wipers
salmon colored brackets that held two wipers each on the wiper arms. I cant find any reference to these when ive looked them up

Sweet project!! My neighbor has a 92 anniversary edition with same looking spoiler. I figured being last year and an anniversary edition it got all the goodies put on it. Front sway bar fat like what you would find on a truck!

Looks like a nice one!! I'd love to have another, my 2nd car that I drove to HS was a blue '87 IROC with the 305/700R4.

@AuroraGirl '87 was the last year for the carb, a computer quadrajet. '88-up was TBI. Then TPI was also offered '85-92 for the Z28s on both the 305 and 350. Could only get the stick behind a 305 though, 350s were auto only
